You might also check out Mattress Insider. Quality custom guaranteed mattresses for AS's. I just ordered a 3" Latex topper for my 07 Bambi to go over the terrible OEM AS mattress. I wanted a firmer feel so threw away the mattress and ordered there Sedona dense foam 5" mattress and am very pleased with the quality and price. 3" latex topper on theSedona. Dixie Norris was very knowledgeable and helpful. They have many options available. Free shipping. Also sell custom sheets and covers. Rocky Mountain Matress is another source but more expensive. Denver Mattress is even more expensive. I did considerable research and am very happy with what I purchased.

Once again no such thing as best. Everyone has different taste and comfort levels. I bought a 10 inch multi layer memory foam mattress thru Amazon that I am very happy with and it did not cost a fortune.

However, the press releases in the forums about poor quality Airstream installed mattresses were reinforced when I tired to sleep in the 2013 25FB at the dealership on the stock mattress as well as the 2015 23D. While at the factory, I had the factory keep the stock twins for the Classic.

One must remember, the word quality has seemingly vanished at the factory and is replaced with "the lowest bidder" for every component which unfortunately also includes the mattresses.

I will concur that the Rocky Mountain mattress units are not the cost cutter specials. However, we sleep well on this brand and that is what matters to us.

YMMV

We used the original Airstream mattress with a topper for 1,000 nights camping without problems. We replaced it with a Sleep Number RV size air mattress w/radius foot corners. On sale at Camping World. Terrific, we adjust our own side to suit us. Should have got it sooner; I doubt we'll ever use another type of mattress.

I will second the Rocky Mountain Mattress recommendation. We got their latex mattress and are very happy with it. My Wife has huge back problems and no complaints from her. Staff was helpful. Only issue was that it took about twice as long as they said to get it to us.

We replaced our mattress on our 2003 25SS Airstream with a new custom mattress from a company call Bedmasters in Port Charlotte, FL. They have lots of experience replacing mattresses in Airstreams as there is an older Airstream Park in the area. Service was great. They came to Ft. Myers to make a template of our mattress the day after we called them. They had many types mattresses to choose from. We were very pleased.
