would you buy AS again?
As a newbie considering buying an AS, I was wondering how you all felt about buying another AS. I've read about quite a few problems some of you are having with corrosion, leaks, etc.
I bought a 26' trailerable sailboat a few years back and quickly realized it was too much work to setup, launch, retrieve, and take down the sails, so I sold it and don't plan to buy another.
Any second thougts out there?

Durn, tootin! My heart has been lusting after a 1982 AS Moho for several days now.

I will never own anything else but. We bought our 1976 31' Sovereign last July. . . (HEY. . . IT'S OUR 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!) We love everthing about her. She is our pride and joy even though she's stripped to the floor right now. We will go and just sit in the AS with our lawn chairs and escape.
It pulls like a dream, sleek and sophisticated. WE LOVE HER!

I own two. Question answered. Realistically, the '67 will go in the future.

Absolutely. In some ways it is more work than staying in a motel, but cannot compare with using and maintaining a sailboat. Every time we go to an RV show or look at other brands while on a trip, our decision to buy an Airstream gets reconfirmed as having been correct.

Yes we would. We are on our second Airstream . It has been said that most Airstreamers will own 4 or 5 of them in their lifetime. We love all Airstreams.

In a heartbeat! We have owned SOB's in the past and while all trailers have their issues AS has far fewer, in my experience, than the others we owned and is sweet to tow. During a recent trip to Northern Vermont we had neighbors that wanted a tour, which we granted. Their eyes turned greener the longer they were inside. He crawled under for a view of the support structures and then came out and told us all the things that has happened to their new fifth wheel and just kept shaking his head.

This is my third and a keeper so I guess I won't have to buy another one. If something happened to this Airstream it would be replace with another. There's nothing even close out there.

I am the owner of a third one... and I keep my eyes open for a fourth one... I sold the first two I have owned for the same price I had bought them or even a little more. The one I have, when I trade it for something else, I will sell it for more than what I have paid for. This is for sure.
I don't know of any of my friends and/or relatives who are able to say the same regarding their equipment.
Of course, I will buy another airstream if I can.

Hmmm - not quite sure how to answer this - don't see the need to think about buying another - we like the one we've got - and I doubt that is going to change!

Don't need to buy another the one I have will last as long as the lifestyle is possible. Would not even consider SOB. AS is the best built out there.

Might under certain circumstances consider an A-Liner, but we got here via tent -> pop up -> SOB, and I doubt we'll go back. "Never" is an awfully long time, so I won't say that.
But still....

Yep,
We're on our second one and uless disaster strikes will keep it til they plant us. If disaster does strike we'll get another one.
After having Airstreams we just can't see getting a SOB. The ugliness of the white box and the Kuntry Kitsch interiors just horrify us.
