I found mine here in town, while working on the back yard of a house that sits up high on the montain (had a view to the homes below), I spotted the A/S sitting on the back parking lot of a church. Went there and begged, pleaded and wheeled and dealed untill I convinced them to sell. It was gutted and being used for storage.

New Mexico, sort of

I bought mine from a forum member who lives in Durango, CO , but stored it in Navajo Dam, NM. I guess I bought my Colorodo trailer in New Mexico. It now resides in Arizona.

Airstream forums

We searched for several months and found it here under the classifieds. Drove 900 miles round trip and brought Peppy home.

Found "Airstream One" on eBay located outside Annapolis MD. Flew to BWI where the seller was kind enough to pick me up. Drove home the same night to Sumter SC. Didn't get 25 miles away before someone hollered at me in traffic asking, "What year is it?" The coach has been driven seven thousand miles since and is a "work in progress."
eBay for me...this is the second coach, first Airstream, that I've found for a very resonable price on eBay.

You've got to kiss a lot of frogs...but your Prince Charming is out there!

blog story

Hi there;
here is the blog story of my "old silver bullet"; Why, where & when i buy it;
just the blog is written in my birth language ( french), so it's a good way to improve your french and easy to understand. So many pictures ; they are internationals.
As it's a blog, began to see it by the first article; not the one on the main page.

thank you

Bruno.

While out cruising one day I was blinded by a silvery glint on the side of the road, did a screeching u-turn, and bought the 68 Tradewind on the spot for $2,500 (asking price was $2,800) from a guy who specializes in used golf carts near Georgetown, DE. It was in such good condition, I would have easily paid twice that.

After keeping tabs on their inventory for over a year, we got the 05 Bambi new from Parkview RV in Smyrna, DE. They're a family-owned business who have sold Airstreams for over 20 years. The entire staff was very professional, and a pleasure to work with.

Bruno,
I don't speak a bit of French, but your pictures are great and really tell the story of your amazing journey. Your appreciation of Airstreams transcends any language barrier. Thank you for sharing your story.

In the fall of 04 we were camped in a popup at Lee's Ferry AZ. That evening this little shinny AS came in being towed by a Jeep SUV. Like many people I've met since I didn't know they were still made. After a search on the net and a few phone calls we were the prowd owners of a 04 16' Bambi. We purchased it from American RV & Marine in Anthony Tx. A little over a year we trade with them for a 25' classic and since traded up once again to a 30' classic with Oasis RV in Tucson Az. As someone said,"only 4 more feet to go".

Bought our 2004 Claasic 28' from Demontrond RV, on the N. side of Houston. They are infinitely more interested in selling cheap TTs and monster coaches than Airstreams, and the salesman we had was pretty much of a jerk - he's gone now.

We bought our Argosy in Naples. Florida, that is. Our Overlander we had to go to see Richard T for, up in North Carolina, an adventure in itself.

Bought mine from a private seller in West Middlesex, PA. Found her on RV Trader. About 250 miles from home. Drove out there twice. The first trip I was a little dissapointed in the condition of the trailer, so I went home and thought about it for a week. Then offered him less $$$ than he wanted, when he agreed I went to pick her up. A year and much $$$ and work later (and much more $$$ and work to go) we are enjoying her.

Wink

I had the Airstream pulled out in beside the house for winterizing and a gentleman stopped and told me where 3 were within an few miles of here,and a 1978 International side bath 31 footer for sale,I can check it out if anyone is lookin,and 2 smaller single axels, there was a dealer in the next town over it was called Murphys Trailer Sales,at the time he was the only one in the area,There are still a lot of them around here, just a little history its strange how a Airstream draws a lot of attention, sorta like a Hot Rod or something like it,
