I wonder if this data should be merged with "what size AS do you tow" poll, or, what % of your max TX rating are you towing at?

If I remember correctly, the "what size AS" poll had a greater % of campers under 25'?

I just went looking dor that poll-can't find it?

Hey Mods-Can we get all the polls listed in one place? Some other sites do this and it make a lot of sense...
Thanx, Bill

hey bill..

they are all in one place.

here is the 'length poll'

http://www.airforums.com/forum...iler-2920.html

the section is as forums>our community>community polls.

note the string header at the top of the page...

and with only 3 pages of threads, it is pretty easy to scan the titles quickly.

cheers

2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid - payload 1430, tow capacity 3500

So I suppose you could say I tow with a '3/4 ton' though the days when a F-250's payload topped out at 1500lbs are long gone.

And I suppose you could say I tow with a car since my HiHy's unibody chassis started out on the Camry's drawingboard before they 'Did things to it'.

What's your tow vehicle's rating?

Greetings Tedd!

This photo brought back some great memories -- it doesn't seem possible that so much time has passed!

It looks good doing it too.
I finally found a wheel shop here in Central Illinois that is going to straighten and true a set of OEM steel wheels for my Cadillac. If all goes as planned, I will be towing with the Cadillac Elodrado Convertilbe for my trip to Morain View (I don't have too far to go only 58 miles from where I am now living.

Thanx 2air

Interesting, the majority of the respondents to the poll have longer AS's (24/25' and over 30/31'). This would SUGGEST, that either many folks are towing on the hairy edge of vehicle capacity, or that many of the AS's are vintage (lighter) or that many folks START with 1/2 ton vehicles and upgrade later.
I guess I could also look at "what year is your AS poll" and merge that data with the above...could also ask "how many started with 1/2 ton TV and soon moved up?"

Oh well, it was an interesting exercise...and not what I expected (thought I would find more 3/4 ton TV's).

Bill

We got 60 months 0% interest with 0 down. It was hard for me to learn that my 01 Jeep Grand with a v-8 and a factory tow package was just not up to the job of towing any Airstream larger than a Bambi. Sure you will hear from others that have pulled a large Airstream with their vehicle. I am always entertained when someone tells me how they are able or how they towed their Airstream with some (in my opinion) under sized vehicle.
I am all about safety, I cut my grass with eye and ear protection... Do I look silly... I don't care , I still can hear my wife when she wispers and I don't have to worry about debris in my eye... (off soapbox)
I think the 3/4 ton is really qualified for the tow job at hand and the Quadra-steer option is way cool and almost impossible to describe till you actually drive one for your self.
Good luck...

Abe
You mena you have one of them STEHL HELMENTS WITH A SCREEN OVER YOU FACE AND EAR FLAPS TOOOOO..

I could not agree more. Margin of safety is a margin big enough to be in controll ALL the time.

What's your tow vehicle's rating?

My how the time and miles fly!

Was browsing through this thread and read my post on the first page -- in the time that has passes since that post, I have added a little more than 100,000 miles to the odometer on my Suburban. The Suburban will likely surpass 200,000 miles early this summer.

We tow our 76 Argosy with a 2006 Ford F-150, and have had no problems even in the mountains. Of course if it were a bigger trailer I think we would go with a 250 diesel, but there are no plans for that.
