Previously worked in Marketing/Graphic design, most recently for a law firm in Detroit. Husband is former Air Force, specifically radio & satellite systems.

Last year we decided to drop everything and move to Wyoming. We now own and operate a powersports shop selling ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles.

I was a Respiratory Therapy Practitioner for 40 years than transferred over to become a Custom seating and positioning and wheelchair specialist. Dana was a licensed registered dietitian for 45 years.
Now we are retired. We miss the patients, but NOT the politics and government regulations.

Well thanks, kswelsh! I'm thinking about it! :-)

I don't believe I've heard it but Dave Wilcox (whose early stuff I really love) did an album called Airstream....

He's a brilliant artist and much deeper than I'd ever be :-)

I am tempted though...plenty of food for thought from different perspectives....

Airline people????? That's me. Worked for TWA for 38 years before AA bought us out and kicked us to the curb. I had stints in Flt Attendant scheduling, Crew planning (pairings and lines of time), aircraft routing, yield management (planning the overbooking levels on flights) among other good and not so good positions within the company. It was a good run, can't complain.
From there I entered the trucking industry as a trucker. First as a concrete mixer driver, then to a semi end dump, and now pulling a 48' flatbed/step deck hauling concrete pipe and other precast concrete products.
Wife is a epedemiologist dealing with birth and death data for the State of Kansas.
But, now we both have departure dates (Jan 1, 2014) to exit the work force and let someone else have our jobs. They are trying to get both of us to commit to doing some part time work. We still have not purchased our AS yet, so that comes first. We too have plans on visiting the National Parks and other great sites in this country. We have kids on both coasts and other family in between.
It's time to "get with it".

My son in law was a fast learner when in his first year of marriage to our daughter he said "I do whatever Sarah tells me to do and that makes everyone happy." Gee, how did he get so smart so fast? Took her dad a few more figure that out. Now he gets it and we are both happy.

One reason I will remain militantly single for the rest of my days. I don't have it in me to be a subservient husband, and cannot even comprehend how anyone— male or female— could possibly be happy just doing what they're told.

In England:
1977-1978 Worked for a furniture store as a delivery boy.
1978-1994 Moving Company employee, van boy to operations manager, Branch manager then finally into sales (which was what I always wanted).
1994-2000 Owned the Village of Sixpenny Handley's funeral home in the County of Dorset and the most emotionally draining but rewarding experience.
In Canada:
2000-2001 Sold cellular service in Banff and Canmore, Alberta
2001-2003 Owned and operated a couple of Dollar stores in Red Deer and Sundre, Alberta.
2003- currently own and operate a carpet and upholstery cleaning business or two (three actually) in the Red Deer and Sylvan Lake areas of Alberta.

A wise man once told me he wanted to stay fit enough to run a marathon on his hundredth birthday. Another said he wanted to be shot by a jealous husband on his, I'm with the latter. God bless you Richard.

Carpet Cleaning is what I do, it's not who I am.
