Cool Retired Helicopter Pilot

Retired from one career and now we own and operate a tech support business to help small businesses and small city governments technology (computers, networks, etc).

We are seriously looking at a reduced schedule and more time on the road!

LITTLE did I know, when I started this thread in celebration of my 500th post, would it develop such a life of it's own!

Federal Narcotics Agents?? YIKES!! Better stay away from our Moraine View Midwest rallies where we smuggle in suspicious liquids and call it chocolate milk :-)
I'm just a pink flamingo on the great lawn of life :-)

Wow, that makes my job sound evern more boring! I manage an applications development department for a health care company. Oh well, I like my work. I don't get shot at... too often.

As the name "claybags" implies, both wife and I are ceramic artists-since 1968 when I finished my MFA at Alfred U. Have done stints as dinnerware designer, glaze engineer, and college prof. Full-time studio artists since 1975. Also "full time" fine art photographer, always a second passion(after wife of course). Can't even think of retiring as we took 1989-1999 off and sailed all over the world in our 37' sailboat. Finally have an Airstream to land cruise in.
Cheers, Jeff

Well, primarily I am a wife and mother. Married 30 years, and we have two grown daughters, one a software engineer the other a Massage Therapist, working on her history degree.

My favorite employment outside the home was full time. It was where I met my husband and lasted until we started our family. I was actually able to use my degree in Wildlife Biology, as an Interpretive Naturalist at a Nature Center owned by the Michigan Audubon society. Mostly I was a stay at home mom with some part time work thorwn in. I worked 15 years part time as the Conservation Education Aid at the local Soil Conservation District. After that I worked for a number of years as a substitute teacher. I am presently working part time as a librarian and enjoying it.

But I am looking forward to retirement in a bit over a year.

I enjoy gardening when the mosquitoes aren't too bad and enjoy reading, and surfing the Airstream forum. This thread has been a real pleasure to read.

Technically I'm supposed to be retired - otherwise I'm doing a bunch of lttle things that add up to full time work.
