We call our '62 Ambassador "Marti" short for Martini, since we have consumed so many of them as we have gone through several restoration projects.
We thought about Ketel 1 for the trailer and Ketel 2 for the TV but just ended up with Marti.

For the record, "Old Rivets" is now named "Elsa"! Our 07 Basecamp is named "Amelia", as in Amelia Airstream. Amelia has her nose art, Elsa still hasn't had hers applied yet. The plan is that Elsa will also get some tailend art - "Thou Shalt Enjoy the Ride" across the back with a pink flamingo done up as a pirate, holding a margarita glass!

Our Overlander's Name is "MISS KITTY" after our faithful companion who passed in 2006. She was an exceptionally smart MINI-Schnauzer,who loved to ride and would, had she lived, would have loved to go campin. She passed away young, 8 yrs old from heart problems. She is missed.

- Airstreams are made from Aluminum.
- Hubby and I are big book readers- both loved the DaVinci Code and related books
- Hubby is a HUGE history buff...
- Hubby is Roman Catholic (no, not a roaming Catholic...LOL!)
- Interestingly enough my ancestors on Mom's side had some "issues" with the Knights Templar back in their day and held a few captive in their castle.
- Plus we wanted something unique...
So Aluminotti it is!!!!!!! It's kinda tongue-in-cheek, but we'll take it!

Aluminotti is gorgeous! We have similar interiors, how lucky you are to have those extra 5 feet! Love Lucy's size for towing, backing up and such but once we (the dogs & I) get settled I would love the space especially with a 127 pound Great Dane!

The Airstream
The Airstream. I have called them other names as they cause me to bleed bruise and not work as they should. But its an Airstream, no need for naming.

We call ours Air Hamel. Hamel being our last name. We also have named our sob's.
The truck is Sunny, it's solar yellow Nissan, her car was her parents, her dad's nickname was red, so you know that one. We have a Ford Fairmont that is white. It was given to me when my great-aunt died, so it's name is Angel. They might be corny, but why not?

My mother's name was Beatrice, and she was everybody's Aunt Bea. That might be a good name for a B van..."Aunt B".

Aunt Jean's name is still my favorite.
She called hers "the silver suppository"
I settled for "foiled again" for my second one.

I think I'll call mine 'Spud', because it looks like a big, foil wrapped, baked potatoe.

Being a family of musicians - Heavy Metal - seemed a good name, although I prefer jazz and blues... plus it gives us the opportunity to design a logo for the back with flames or something...
