Secret to making long trips shorter

We have an iPod - not to download songs, but just so we can take our entire record/CD collection with us. And for short trips we'll listen to whatever catches our fancy.

But my 'secret' for making long trips shorter is soundtracks. There is something about listening to music in 1-2hr chunks that makes the hours pass by much more swiftly.

On *really* long days I try to listen to at least one 'double' - two soundtracks by different artists of the same play/movie. For example, 'South Pacific' with Mitzi Gaynor vs Mary Martin or 'A funny thing happened on the way to the forum' with Zero Mostel vs Nathan Lane. A very pleasant way to make three hours on I-95 disappear.
