the best forum rally of the year....2006 2006 2006.

ok, i had this idea for a 2006 year end poll

that could be entertaining and fire folks up…

the ‘forum rally movement’ appears to be in full swing…

more rallies each year and a greater number of folks here are attending.

in my view that is one of the unique features of this community…

that we can and do get2gether! and all over this great land too!

so with that introduction, i bring you

2006 THE BEST FORUM RALLY OF THE YEAR AWARD… 2006

actually attending some of these rallies would be useful, but everyone can vote…

and we all can vote twice…but not for the same rally twice.

here is the background 4 how i arrived at the nominees…

-must have been on the rally calendar between january 1 and december 31 of 2006.

-must have had at least 3 folks attend…

-since the poll software only allows for 10 options, the 10 rallies with the top attendance were selected.

only airforums[/B] rallies were included. wbcci, tin can tourist or other nationally sponsored events were omitted.

so here are the nominees for 2006 offered chronologically…

vote for 2, but make as many posts regarding any or all rallies as you like!

wanna post WHY a specific rally was tops, go ahead...

wanna post photos from that rally, go ahead...

as with all elections, awards and american democratic processes...

mud slinging, bribes and unethical behavior is encouraged….

the voting will continue until DECEMBER 2007…

no doubt someone will cook up an award by then...

and chill out topsail folks...

the can opener WILL appear in the 2007 poll...

cheers
2air’

ok so why am i doing this in july?

well i tried to put this up in feb/mar but the poll software was broken...

took me this long to find the file again...

so here are the rally options for voting, location, dates and APPROXIMATE # of trailers...

don't have a cow IF i over/under reported attendance...

otoh that information could be used to influence the VOTING habits of others....

1. great northwest getaway. april 21-23, 2006. 9
2. Georgia mountain area spring fling. april 21-23, 2006. 11
3. nor cal casini ranch forum rally. april 28-30, 2006. 10

5. silver falls oregon forum rally. july 1-4, 2006. 11

Great Idea Joe,

I voted Moraine because it drew people from so many different states.

Thumbs up Metro Detroit 2006 Louapalooza

Lou Patterson's Party International got my vote! Will you be joining us next month? C'mon along! Also voted for the Midwest Forums rally for that great bunch. I'll make that neck of the woods someday I am sure.

Pictures of Louapalooza 2006, same rally site this year.

You mean some people actually count them? This is all in good humor and superstition and we do not actually sacrifice chickens, so please do not get offended. However, the smoked chicken recipe is real, and guaranteed to please.

I had to vote for Silver Falls and Beverly Beach. Silver Falls because it was so much fun we couldn't be dragged away to visit international, and Beverly Beach - well, just because. I mean, come on, who else had the campfire area temporarily cleared out after the resident park ranger/airstreamer tried to pepper spray the raccoons? Yeah, I thought so! There's something we're not likely to forget!

The beer is usually offered in a six pack.
I sacrifice four to six chickens and offer them up to the smoked chicken god!
We all get to have some then....
Once you try my smoked chicken you will not want to eat it any other way!

I Vote Fall Leaf Thing

The FORUMS rally at Hiawassee, GA was my first Forums rally. It will always remain in my memory as a great rally. The people came from GA, FL, SC, NC, TN, and KY (hope I didn't leave a state out, but sure I did). We all pitch in to make these gatherings the best ever.
Be Sure to attend our Falluminum Rally this Oct 26-28. Sure to be the biggest and best yet.

Why did you leave Top Sail out of the voting? More attendees than those listed and far more posting about it both before and after the ralley.

I would mentiion one of our WDC unit ralleies but it is too good to share.

Guess you know where my vote goes.

hi howie/carol

as noted in the starter post this is about 2006!

t-s was in jan 2007, so it will be in the 2007 poll.

as the rally calendar/participation has grown significantly it wouldn't be fair to have the 2007 poll before 2007 is done? would it carol?

the bigger challenge will be keeping the 2007 list short enough to fit the poll software limit of 10 choice.

then there is the issue of including resticted rallies, as in no rabbits allowed...

so for now let's vote, support, remind and otherwise persuade folks on the 2006 events!

pictures are fun too!

cheers

Guess I was not clear 2Air, it does read a bit like that, doesn't it, but I actually meant in a friendly way to tell Howie, We can't do that. It is a different year. I was on it, I had it. But the Can Opener was SWEET!!!!!!!!!!

Based upon percentage of attendees to voters the Metro-Detroit rally has a larger response!

Hate to be the accountant here

But the 2006 RI "Ocean State" Rally had way more than 12 trailers. I'm thinking we had 20+ rigs in attendance. Leon and I assisted our beloved Airstreaming friends Titu and Gail in hosting this event and between us we got 3 new NEU members signed up - right on the spot because of the fun folks had with NEU members at this non-WBCCI rally.

We use (very successfully) forum rallies to build membership in the WBCCI, New England Unit. Of course we are a much different club then many WBCCI Units, and I believe this is a good thing.

BTW. The "Ocean State" Rally is a NEU, WBCCI Buddy Rally this year. Gail has 42 rigs signed up so far......
