it was in jan 2007.

so it WILL be in the 2007 competition,

2006 THE BEST FORUM RALLY OF THE YEAR AWARD… 2006

wanna post WHY a specific rally was tops, go ahead...

wanna post photos from that rally, go ahead...

as with all elections, awards and american democratic processes...

mud slinging, bribes and unethical behavior is encouraged….

the voting will continue until DECEMBER 2007…

1. great northwest getaway. april 21-23, 2006. 9
2. Georgia mountain area spring fling. april 21-23, 2006. 11
3. nor cal casini ranch forum rally. april 28-30, 2006. 10
4. midwest forums moraine view rally. june 9-11, 2006. 25
5. silver falls oregon forum rally. july 1-4, 2006. 11
6. metro detroit forum rally michigan. august 3-6, 2006. 24
7. september get together in the “ocean state”, r.i. september 14-17, 2006. 12

the list will change for 2007 and so will the rules for cheating!

notice this it 2 WEEKS earlier than originally planned...

the intent with starting this poll was...

-make members aware of the great forums rallies around the country
-encourage rally goers to play up their favorities for others to enjoy
-reflect on the past rally season...
-and generally increase awareness for ALL forum members, that we LIKE TO PARTY!!!


i think the first attempt at this went pretty well and did all of the above. don't you?

i couldn't list them all but a quick trip to the forum calendar page provides a month2month recap.

2006 was a great year for forum events and reinforces the special nature of this virtual community...

we actually gather in the flesh! how cool is that!

runner up praise goes too...

beverly beach bash iii.

it was a primo event and has grown so large now... it's outta control!

the runner's up position is important (so take heed janet and gary),

because should the winner (for any reason) not be able to full fill the many obligations of the winner...

well, you know the story.

a few words about the winner...

-they posted with enthusiasm
-they included pictures (love the vintage wagon)
-they didn't sling any mud, i'm still waiting for the bribes...
-and they got creative with 'voter recruitment'

in other words, that kicked some contest hiney!

You know it was a great rally, we met so many nice people there.
I have never seen so many folks cooking with dutch ovens, the dessert table was full of those ovens!!
