Spring Fever?

O.K., fess up-----what have you been doing in the past day or so to rush Spring's arrival? I'll start. Today, I checked all of the AS test gauges, cranked up the lawnmower, took the winter "bra" off of the diesel dually, chopped up the last remaining snow pile in the yard, threw a pile of aging lawn hose in the truck to take to the dump, tried to pull some old 2004 campaign posters out of the ground from where they had settled behind the lawn box (----they were still frozen to the ground!) - and then seriously considered taking the leaf netting and cover off of the pool! The latter thought passed and I came in the house to fix a drink!

I can't be the only one living in snow country that goes through these Spring rituals so, like I said - FESS UP!

I am not exactly in snow country but! I dumped some fresh compost in the square foot gardens, dragged the touring bicycle out and did a quickie tune up and ride around the block (so to speak) and took another cabinet out of the Airstream

I'm still racing to get Chummy back together from an all winter project and hoping Spring holds off until I am done.

We dug up some fence posts and shoveled dirt in the back yard...the first step to putting in a gate and moving the shed at our new (vintage, of course!) house so we can bring Maxwell home! WooHoo!

I took a ride on the bike. It was a cool ride @ 39 deg. but even cooler @ 60 MPH. Come on Spring!

Vacuumed the beach sand out of the Suburban from last weeks Baja trip with the Overlander. Then nothing. It's not sunny out, so I am staying in.

Wish I was home...

You guys got me ready to jump on home projects when I get back. Talked to the wife on the phone yesterday and she was spreading "Weed and Feed" to stop the spring growth of weeds. As she was on the phone she walked the yard and gave me progress on the trees that I planted post Katrina. I could close my eyes and hear Clancy Boy (the lab) running by and getting his ball. Spring has sprung in south Mississippi. Purple Martins fill the houses I put up. I did have a whole group of people doing odd jubs on the Caravel for me while I'm gone so she is ready to go the day after I get home and we're off to Disney when I get off this ship. Temperatures here are low 100's in the shade, there is no shade at sea..... But, it's much safer out here than ashore.

I continued running the air conditioner, and changed the oil and filters on the generators in preparation for the upcoming hurricane season...
I also brought home a 30 gallon drum for fuel for the generators.

Went to RV store - got a new water heater plug.

Went to battery store - got new (trailer) battery.

Made Sushi for dinner - wondered if it's possible to make it at a mini-rally...

Mike, where the heck are you? Deployed? God speed if you are.

It is currently 37 degrees in ol' Georgia. Old wives' saying is that if thunder in January, snow in March in these parts. We had big thunderstorms in January, my peach trees are still waiting or the snow.

Brought everything out of the greenhouse today. Mowed the lawn, edged the curbs and flower beds, pruned plants, repotted plants, tilled the garden, weighed and tagged the new calves born since yesterday. Temperatures ranged around 74 this afternoon. Trees are leafing out.

Tommorrow, I start getting packed and ready for the Region 9 rally in Glen Rose which starts on Tuesday, the 28th. They are expecting around 250 rigs.

We got the electric jack on, fridge hooked up, curtains finished and have started working in the yard. We still havn't gotten all our mess cleaned up from Katrina, but it's looking better. Jasmine, irises and a few azealas are blooming here.
