What about the MPG ?? I got 14-16 mpg on the trip to the Redwoods w/ my Cummins Diesel . Thats pulling ! 25 ft Caravaner , wife 2 kids 2 bikes ect.......

I thought I would never sell the Toyota ( I may give it to the family or one of the fans)... I bought the TURBO new in '85 to pull the Minuet (and anything else that needed hauling) and it has been totally flawless to Mexico, Canada and up the hill to the Crystal basin many times... but Dr. Ferdnand Ferry Porsche read my mind in a dream and created the Cayenne which I have on order... although the price is way out of reach I may be able to swing it with "sponsorship" if not I'll by the VW Touareg to do it... they have a V10 TDI with 720Nm of torque!

Hey, this is Annette, Bud Brown's wife and I think you forgot a special vehicle that does a superb towing job for our 2001 Safari 27ft. It's my most favorite vehicle so far - a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada with an in-line 6 and 275 pounds of torque. That's more pulling power than our Suburban that gets left behind in our driveway. The gas mileage is good and the ride is wonderful. I'd be interested in reading about other "Other"s in the Towing Poll.

Hey, Tim Kelly Tell me about towing capacity etc for the Cayene.I earlier this year wanted to put a hitch on my C4 cab. Just kidding but the Cayene is intriguing.Which one did you order?

Hi Tim, recently I both drove the VW Touareg and the Porsche Cayenne. Both cars are great, but I think the Touareg with the 10 cylinder diesel is the better car in regard to towing an A/S.

Hello Everybody,
I'm sorry for the delay in my response...
The Cayenne has 2 available engine configurations 4.5 liter V/8's.
The non-Turbo has 340 HP @ 6000 RPM with 310lb-ft @5500 RPM. The Turbo has 450 HP @ 6000 RPM & 460 lb-ft @ 4750 rpm. They each have a towing capacity of 7,716 lbs! & a nose weight of 616 lbs! Full time 4wd, 6 speed Automatics with a dual range & a program that senses the load of a trailer and downshifts automatically to provide engine braking (as if the huge brakes (F 13.78" & R 13") needed much help.
Much more information is available at Porsche.com. I'll ordered my turbo in Teal Green with a Beige interior... although the Titanium color would look AWESOME on the Cayenne & the Minuet. The interior of the Minuet would look fantastic with a matching interior treatment. I hope that I make enough from selling the house & stuff to have some money left... to drive it everywhere I want to go. The Cayenne also performs quite well as a "Sports Car" when unencumbered by "The Bauble”. It has a speed rating of approx. 160 MPH and will out accelerate a PORSCHE Boxster S... these features are probably not all that important to most but I fully intend to go to the race track with the Bauble in tow unhook it & take it out on the track to instruct high performance driving techniques & may even race it a bit. I have a desire to haul my Minuet around ‘the Ring’ fast enough to set a new record… crazy you say?

I agree that the Touareg equipped with the TDI V/10 & the 720 lb-ft would be a much better way to go… if you didn’t need a racer to drive when you get to the track… I’ve put my Toyota in 4-wheel drive a few times and hauled the Minuet to places that amazed any that happened by… ‘Which’ accounts for a few dents here and there around the underside.
I’ve expected many a time to have a picture taken similar to your “Police_1” for a slightly different reason.

Annette & Bud... I agree!! The new Envoys, Trailblazers, and Bravadas all use that new inline six and it is impressive. Lots of power and good gas mileage. For an SUV the track is wide on these vehicles which is a plus. I give GM a pat on the back for getting this one right.

I too would be interested in what is included in the "other" catagory.

Wayne,

As I consider Olds to be a Gm product, I thought the Chevy/GMC would cover that.

Others: I felt this would cover Range Rover's. Hummer's, ect.

I'm going to be starting another poll(Yes Another Poll

) on what style tow vehicle do you tow with.

I'm thinking of: trucks, Full-size vans. mid-size vans, mini-van, SUV's ect.

But I wanted to get through this polling 1st.
