My guess is that most are gonna be relatively newer owners
My reasoning is when we have "new toys" we will be more active here than when we're old pros...whaddaya think?
Shari
I still think this is the case...and people vote when they are new members then can't vote again. Case in point ~

Shari, I think I see your point, but back when the poll originated, there were more than a few older trailers.
Were you refering to A/S ownership, or activity on the forums?

Couple of thoughts:
I took it to be asking how long we owned our A/S trailer (or multiples) - not how old our trailer is or how long we were members of the forums - I believe that was also John's intent (Hmmm...wonder what ever happend to him?)
Only forum members can vote - not lurkers
Demographic of 'forum users' is generally younger than the average Airstream Owner
Older people have had more opportunity to own their trailer(s) longer
Once you vote - that's it. The poll does not age with you. We owned our trailer just over a year when I voted...now it's been 6 years - if I voted today, I would be on the other side of the bell curve
Only 567+/- forum members (of nearly 26,000 total members) have voted
So the bottomline is this poll (as are most) is skewed. Not much can be done to make it accurate.

Maybe we need a new poll... How long since you voted in the "how long poll?" LOL!
We've owned this one, '75 25' Trade Wind, about two months. Last one, '93 34' Excella, for 8 years; one before that '93 30' Excella for 5 years, one before that '67 Caravelle for less than a year.

Maybe this poll should be closed and another started. "What year did you purchase your first A/S?" "What year did you purchase your second A/S?" etc. Can you create several columns in a poll or would it have to be done as several different and individual questions?
If we had to pick a year then the information would "age" properly. Only other issue is when people trade or sell. Hmmm.
We just bought our Argosy at the end of summer, 2007. It has taken me until now just to get everything checked out and make all the little repairs every "as found" needs. Now I'll be reinstalling the gauchos, laying new Pergo and getting on the road finally right after the school year. I can't wait. "Argy" has kept us waiting a year too long!
__________________ So...you bought a vintage trailer, did you, honey? Good deal, was it? Oh, just a couple of repairs, huh?
Drat, now our little Argy is starting to grow on me. I guess you were...were...were...right, honey.
How about one day...just picked up our 78 Ambas'dor 28 yesterday!
I've spend most of today attending to checking out all systems, some cleaning of the vents, etc. Got to get some of that Future Floor Wax I've read will get rid of that 'sticky' feeling of the vinyl interior.
I'm going to see if I can get the Alum Propane tank's valves changed over to the new style to avoid problems with some fill stations. I'll probably have to have them re certified as well...they were checked in 92.
I'm going to change out the marker lights with LED versions, and check into finding some LED Stop/Tail light conversions.
Also, as I'm going with new Fantastic Fans to replace the stock vent/light assemblies, I'll have to look into some other overhead lighting...thinking of a couple of new style fluorescence type overhead fixtures, as there's 12 volt wiring up there in the vents currently.
Lots to do...also going to look into new axle replacements...maybe with disc brakes...anyone done that recently? Seems disc's will be easier to convert when changing the axles too.
We acquired our "nearly new" 1990 A/S 25' Excella at the end of August/early September and prepped her for our maiden voyage in November for three weeks to visit the kids in Louisiana.
Best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray ... we've been living in her ever since we left Maine November 9!
Been reading the forums for awhile now - 2 years or so. In a previous incarnation I shared a 1968 15' Serro Scotty with my youngest brother...
