It's Thursday and I love my Airstream because...
Tonight I'm going to hitch up the TV so it's ready to roll when I get home from work tomorrow and we're going to head down to a new campground about an hour and half away a fellow forum member told us about (thanks nilesrob) and see if the fish are biting. It's been only three weeks since our last camping excursion, but I've been looking forward to getting back in the Airstream ever since.

Now if tomorrow would just hurry up and get here!

Yeah, I'm liking ours more and more. We bought our '66 over 2 years ago and began with a surprise b-tank to be replacement and a rotted bathroom floor whch I replaced also. Last summer the water heater needed to be replaced and discovered some floor rot there too. Since then I have been all around the floor plan with various maitainance chores and have not found any more rot. This week I decided to pull the old shell for the long ago removed furnace under the galley. Under there I found....two old forks...floor is like new. Now I really like our Airstream all week!

... because even though we're unable to go out this weekend, the little trailer is washed, equipped, inflated, charged, prepped, and ready to go.

Going Camping, Going, Going, Going, Soon to be gone!

It is Thursday!

Our Sweet Bambi is packed (except for refrig items in the morn) and is ready to go on the road! We are going camping with our daughter and son-in-law! Should have a great time!

It has been so smokey here in Northern California (we are in "real" northern CA) this whole summer, and this past week the air quality index has been "unhealthy"... nearly 200 on the AQI! So we are outta here for a few days, hopefully to find some clear air for our Bambi (and our lungs...)

Going to a new spot, in Josephine County, Oregon ~ Lake Selmac. Visited there briefly a week or so ago and it looks like a nice place. Have a reservation right on the lake.

Have a good weekend everyone!

The Countdown Begins

Tomorrow I bring the Trade Wind home from storage and start getting ready for the RMVAC Rally next week. Next Thursday we will be in Salina, CO. It will be much cooler then the 112 degrees we will have tomorrow.

It's Thursday and I love my Airstream because -

My oh so sweet '03 Classic 30' may have a special lover to begin sharing her PHAP (Palace of Heavenly Aluminum Peace)!!! We're leaving in the morning to inspect a Flying Cloudl!!

It's now 12:15 am, and we're getting up at 5:00 am,
and I just CAN NOT calm down.
Aluminum (new'ish & vintage) trumps maturity every time.

PLEASE - Wish me luck!!?

It's Thursday and I love my Airstream because...last weekend she took us to a new to us campground (Blanton Creek Park) on Lake Harding in Fortson, GA where we had a peaceful weekend only 81 miles from home. The fish weren't biting, but it was nice despite the gosh awful heat anyway (upper 90's). We look forward to going back to this campground again and again.

Its Thursday and we like our Airstream because....

Minnie's mate, only 81 miles that is a major trip for us in the UK
...the layout is perfect for us for full timing.
...its cosy in the winter, a quick blast with the furnace in the morning and
then a 800w halogen heater keeps it up to temp.
...not having seen an Airstream in the flesh (just pictures), we cannot
describe the feeling when it was first delivered.
...its has a character and doesn't feel like any other RV we have owned,
a real homely feeling.
...the overall construction, while having a few raw edges, is above
expectation.
...although only 25' there is plenty of room for all our worldly possessions,
even an 'O' gauge train set under the bed!
...ideal for extended stays away from utilities relying on solar.
...we appreciate our Airstream a lot more because we had to wait four
months from order to her arrival at Southampton docks, UK. Even
though anything not fastened down was stolen-even the ball mount and
manual for the truck that was imported with her.

Its Thursday and WE LOVE OUR MODPOD!....

Cause today I became a rebel and took matters into my own hands!

And now ModPod is sporting her brand new "Tag"

Lesson to be learned - ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS AND THEN DOUBLE CHECK - YOUR TRAILER VIN TO THE TITLE AND VICE VERSA.

And here I thought registering a newer one would be just a piece of cake - a little more expensive cause it has to go through a Vehicle import program - but heck - look out when your State messes up - the Border messes up and NO ONE picks up on the VIN not being copied right and letters go astray....

Well long story short - I WAS NOT DRAGGIN MODPODS AS back to Virginia to have a title corrected that virtually would be rendered useless within 3 seconds of registering here...

How I did it....all you have to do is let the Government offices fight between themselves long enough - get the papers you need while they are arguing and then go about your business and follow the rules - and bingo

Now if Ontario Canada would just let us do custom Trailer Plates I would have one made with MODPOD.....

Also it is Thursday and we love our Airstream BECAUSE we have one more sleep and we are off on our 2nd Honey Moon for 3 weeks - hmmm as you get older you get more weeks added on - could it be cause it takes longer ROFL.... to drive places that is
