Rally of a Lifetime
Tomorrow we will tow it to a balloon fiesta
Watch the sunrise every day for a week
Watch hundreds of balloons lift skyward
Watch ballon glows and fireworks at night
All because my Airstream convinced me to go
To camp out
Fourteen miles from home

It's Thursday, and I Like My Airstream Because...
It's tucked away in a sunny place,
Where the sun shines and the palm trees wave.
We know it's there, Waiting for us.
In a sunny place
Where we can be in just one day.
Somehow it makes us warm just knowing this.

It's Thursday, and I Like My Airstream Because...
I'm starting to pack, organize, do maintenance, and generally getting ready to head south for the winter.

I agree. It's my vacation home. I rather have a vacation home where I go...it means that I don't have to go to the same place year after year. And, no grass to cut. I traveled 14,000 to Alaska and back and plan to do it again in 2014. I traveled with a Jayco caravan since the Airstream caravan to Alaska was full in 2011.

I'm still trying to come up with a name for my Airstream.

It's Thursday and I love my Airstream because after owning her for a year, I am as much in love with her today as the day I first spied her photo in the Airstream classifieds

it's Thursday and I like my airstream because....
She is backed in our driveway at our home for the first time and I see her bright red eyes smiling at me when I have my morning coffee on the deck.

It's Thursday and I love my Airstream because the wife and I have been retired for under a year and I just reserved spot at a RV park in my favorite city on the Gulf Coast for the Winter - going to get away from rainy Northern California while making a Coast to Coast jaunt.
After Florida up to New England for a while then who knows after that.

It's Thursday and Mr. Mod and I have plans to go camping in the AS this weekend at a local lake. It's a 20 minute drive and perfect for just getting out of the house.
Other plans have turned up and now we're not going.
Now that we're not going, I want to go even worse! I would go spend the night in it anyway, but the AS lives up at the hubby's shop when not in use.
It's Thursday and I miss my Airstream.

Yesterday, Thursday April 26th/12, I hooked up the water to our AS, getting ready to flush her out. We are going to have a damp weekend so it will be a good one to finish up the cleaning. I like washing the exterior in the rain as it helps flush away the suds. I might take her out of the driveway for a shake-down. We are looking forward to spending all summer in Southern Belle.

Thursday was day ten of a sixteen day road trip, our second trip this spring, in our "Home away from home" and we're loving it once again. This is a great time of the year to be in Texas and especially parked next to two other Airstreams the park management just happened to place near each other here in The Vineyards Campground in Grapevine, Texas....a beautiful place in the center of the DFW Metroplex. With an Airstream MoHo across the cove and a 34' Excella just down the road we feel like we're in a rally of sorts.

It's Not Quite Thursday...
...but tomorrow I'll be too busy packing to make a post. We're headed out to the White Mountains for some much needed respite and trout fishing. Been too long since the Twinkie has been on the road so we're all overdue.
