I've only had my 42 year old trailer for a month, but it's my baby and I love looking out in the back yard in the morning watching it sleep in the softly falling snow...

because we are staying in it at the Chula Vista Elk's Lodge on our way to a rally at Santee Lakes tomorrow.
This afternoon we will be with good friends flying our beautiful red white and blue sport kites at Mission Bay.

Thursday will be a nice day.

because even though it is sitting home I can sit home in it sitting home. That's almost like Airstreaming if you don't look out the window.

Ken, I thought you finished that trailer like 3 years ago or something!?

Just kidding of course-- you're an inspiration, and I re-read your thread from beginning-to-end about once every 2-3 months. Of course, that's much easier to do on yours than on Uwe's...

...because she's all cleaned out from summer rambles and winterized for the cold that's coming. (13 degrees forecast here for tonight. Gas prices are falling with the temperature! Yea!) She'll stay tucked snuggly against the barn until New Year's and our trek south to Key Largo with her. We are all looking forward to that. ~G

Because she was going to take us camping this weekend at High Falls State Park this weekend until I saw the weather report last night and saw that it is going to be in the twenty's both Friday and Saturday night and we decided that we can stay couped up in the house better than the Airstream with more room for two adults, two rambunctious boys and a spastic cocker spaniel, who, by the way, would have been the only one in this family to really enjoy camping in that kind of weather.

I actually did declare it finished several years ago - I got really go tired of working on it and not being able to go camping - so I declared it finished and went camping However still have belly, hot water, shower, and some other things to make it done done... I even have a fresh water tank to put in it - I will update my thread as I get these things finished....

Thank you very the very kind words on my restoration - Uwe and I have had many "three six pack" discussions on Airstream restoration... all good.

Snowing ashes.

Hi, it's Thursday and I like my Airstream because: It is still beautiful and shiny after hosing off all the ashes that fell on it during the Southern California fires. I was waiting for one of those Southern California earthquakes to shake the ashes off, like a dog shakeing water off of his body, but that didn't happen. [just kidding about the earthquake]

So to be honest with you, I guess my two step winterizing process is actually a three step process.

(1.) Park Airstream in driveway. [worth ten points]

(2.) Charge batteries once a month. [one point]

(3.) Rinse off dust, with garden hose, as needed. [one point]

I put two fresh bottles of gas on my AS and tried to get the furnace to run-- guess I have to bleed the line. Previous owner ran the tanks bone dry. That was my Thursday. Thank goodness there are 24 more Thursdays before Camping season gets back here.

Our AS sits in the back of our home and last week we finally got our new furnace working so I started painting (Benjamin Moore low VOC.. No FUMES...awesome product) the bedroom.

Last night Jack and I sat at the new dinette (a work in progress) and drank a bottle of wine. It was so much fun. Even though it's right by the house it's still like an escape.

Because this may be our last trip for a long while... so let's hope the rain stays away from the Texas Hill Country!

We'll savor what we can, and then Shiny the Sport goes into hibernation before we head overseas.

It's Thursday, a speical Thursday, and I love my airstream because I am back from a few days on the lake, and she got a new wax and polish, which means I don't have to do a wax and polish! She's put back to bed (inside, she has her own bedroom) for a the holiday ...

I know it's Friday but we love our Airstream because yesterday she helped with Thanksgiving. She was my 2nd oven, 2nd refer for the barley soda and that all important room for the men while they were deep frying the Turkey and watching the game. Yes, the fryer was 20 feet away from Pearl just in case we had a T. V. commercial episode. No problems, the turkey was perfect. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Things are workin!!

It's Thursday and I like my Airstream because, after many attempts I finaly got the origional refrigerator in my 63 TW working that made my day and then some. Things are cold and the ice is hard, we all know hard is good. Only 1 propane appliance left to get working, the oven.
