Two weeks of travel in the Caravel gives one many reasons to love one's Airstream(s). Here's a few shots along the way from Colorado to Sedona to Albuquerque and back home.
Departing Sedona, the clouds to the east were great:
If you take Arizona 260 (which turns into US 60 in New Mexico) to the east, there are lots of opportunities for boondocking. If you want to be in the big pines, you have to stop before Show Low, but the drier areas to the east are good, too:
In New Mexico the Very Large Array is worth a visit:
October is not only pumpkin month, but balloon month!
Thank you for your valuable contributions to this site. I haven't been around much lately but it always makes me smile.
It's Tuesday and I love my Airstream because - it's the one constant thing (not person - hubby is that) that I can enjoy by doing nothing to or planning a massive renovation. It's a focal point of many of my dreams and potential adventures. It's a classic icon that I don't feel guilty about leaving alone for months and then planning major activity around.

Never a bad day in an Airstream!

Does anyone else see the hippo in the clouds on the one picture? The mouth is open if that helps. Or is this only because of the good pain killers I'm on now?
Great pictures Zep.

because she patiently stands on three tires while her fourth is getting patched. Wasn't she a dear to wait until home in her comfy yard to go flat rather than while carooming down the highways at a heady 55 mph as she was just 2 weeks ago on her run up to the North Shore and back? The Big O repairman was amazed at the bolt he pulled from her tire. ~G

Really great pictures! Thanks for sharing! By the way Safari57, I don't see the hippo. Do you see the whole thing, or just the head? I always failed those rosharch tests....

ZEP~ We are camping this weekend at Woods Canyon Lake. It is just off 260 just when you get to the top of the rim. We will be in a group site, but the area has many places to just pull in and enjoy the views.
Is the hipo on it's back? Maybe I need some of those pills?
Okay, Zep, I hope I'm not in trouble for copying your Hippo picture but I see a hippo, facing to the right in this cloud formation. It's mouth is open. It is not the cloud itself but the blue space between the upper and lower cloud. You can see the two stubby ears, the mouth is open, and the head is kinda faint but it looks pretty close to me - or maybe it's the pain killers

You win the prize of a larger bottle of pain killers...

I'm not sure what this is coming out of the back - but I can guess '
I'm glad that someone else can see the hippo in the picture. For a minute or three I thought I was going to have to stop taking the pills and take another look and be disappointed.
Yep, Zep, no lack of the wonder stuff in stock at the moment. It makes for interesting trips, and I don't even have to hook up the trailer and leave home . I can just slip out there with a hot mug of tea, turn on the radio, read a book, have several snoozes, and then Donna comes looking for me...oops, "oh, yeah, right, sorry, I was going to bring that stuff in right away and got a bit distracted...."

It's Thursday and I like my Airstream because it's repolishing job is 75% complete now. And, of course, since I've been working so hard on polishing the last couple of weeks, IT"S RAINING!!!! Actually a blessing since we are having such a historic horrible drought in the Tennessee Valley.
But even better, the inside is clean, packed, and ready to head for Fort Mountain State Park in Georgia today. Hoping for a little fall color and a gorgeous weekend.
Yes It Is Thursday
I love my Airstream cause it means "ITS ADVENTURE TIME'. We have the trips to plan for next yr. Something to look forward too and work toward.Makes life intresting.
Just started the pre-flight checklist, all systems are go. Lift off tomorrow morning for another fun filled weekend of camping. Destination is Woods Canyon Lake in the Arizona Rim country. We will be gathering with my fly fishing club friends...
