Because I'm sitting in Sedona getting ready for the art festival here. I think I saw some of you heading for Albuquerque along I-40 today as I was heading for Arizona! Three Airstreams within 10 minutes, which is a rarity.

Thanks, 2Air! I traveled the loneliest highway to Burning Man and loved it, both ways (as always). The best camping spot is (among many) a meadow just east of Austin right at the summit, on the north side of the highway. You take a dirt road up over a little rise, which conceals it from view.
I'll be at the Ballon Fiesta next weekend, the second weekend of the associated Art Festival.
It is Thursday and I adore my Airstream! So many places to go and see and so little time! I am still remembering the great time we had at Beverly Beach!

As usual, I missed Thursday by one day...but I still love my Airstream and will miss her terribly this weekend while I take my two boys on the Cub-Scout Spook-a-Ree where we will sleep in the woods in a tent at Camp Thunder near Woodbury and Thomaston, GA. It's supposed to get down into the low 40's and I will miss my central heat dearly. In the past I have threatened to park the Airstream in the parking lot just in case it got below 40 but I don't think they would actually let me do it. (Even though I have seen a Class C there so one dad could watch his college team's game on ESPN on the satellite dish.) But I will be dreaming of 'streaming when I get up Sunday morning and my pre-senior arthritic bones are stiff and aching.
But next weekend I get my revenge when we take her to Ft. Wilderness for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!

I just spent the past few days unpacking from the Balloon Fiesta Rally and now can start getting ready for next weekend when we will be camping with our fly fishing club friends at Woods Canyon Lake on the rim near Payson.
Where is this "nowhere" place? Middle of Mojave Preserve?

Very few of us can drive into the preserve and if you do the Ranger comes by and checks to see if your name is on his list. An unwanted interuption in your serenity.
Last weekend we were between Amboy and Cadiz dry lake. A non preserve area. The only sign of the human race was an occasional passenger jet overhead.
