I like my Airstream because

Today she got new drains in the kitchen sink, replacing the old corroded ones, and a new longer faucet to replace the old bathroom type that some PO put in. And rock guards for her beautiful windows, tho it will be a while before we are ready to put them on. She is beginning to look pretty spiffy with some primer and touch-up paint where a PO (&$?^#)wire-brushed??!!!!the paint off of some of her rivets (Why would anybody DO that?). It won't be a total new paint job but she (like me) will look pretty good going down the road at 40 miles an hour if you don't look really close (kinda like me!)

Because she is proving herself to be a tough ol' bird, in all the best ways. Yesterday we had hail, including some near golfball sized boomers. After the deluge, there she stood, unscathed while I expected dents and pits. What a girl ~G

hello all and happy thursday!

it's thursday and i like my airstream because...

she seems to like the high country.

it's so much dryer than her native land...

that she's full of squeaks and groans and new sounds from drying out...

it may be time to add a moisturizer or humidifier....

and the mouse hitchhikers from area 33 got their little necks snapped!

so we're back to just 2 occupants...

i hope ....

cheers

Because I’m making some progress on the interior updates. I like it so much that I ordered it a new refrigerator today.

Because Epiphany is unloaded, cleaned and ready for another 4,800 mile adventure (even though the passengers need a break)

Because she has her step painted today, new vinyl in the belt trim, got washed and waxed (whew!) and new screens on the windows, and the screen frames painted and put back up. Looking spiffy! Getting ready for another fishing trip soon!

Were they mice, or aliens in disguise? Geez I hope we don't have any hitchhikers hiding in the Bambi. Maybe I will throw the cat in her for awhile...

It is Thursday and I my Bambi! Again, we had a great time at Area 33 and it was so nice to be out and about! Now, if summer would only show up here... last night it was 38 degrees... Humph! This is California, and it is June! But our sweet Bambi is ready to go again soon!

We love our Blue Pearl because we just moved into her today for the Summer. She makes such a perfect Summer cabin, if we are at the beach, the lake, or by the creek in Vernonia. Where ever we wander, she is following right behind, waiting for the next adventure.

It's Thursday and I love my Argosy because of the anticipation I feel when working on her and dreaming of the trips we'll take.

Because even though the Safari floor has become a total pain in the butt, the Sovereign now has all its double pane windows back in with good seals and the Caravel is always ready to go. Things are looking up! And it's still cold a night with warm days here in the mountains. Yay, Colorado!

...because when we're desperate to hit the road but gas $$ and schedules get in the way, she's so sweet to slip into out by the barn for a driveway camp, pretending we're "on the road again." We open her door and look out at the pond, er...Lake Superior...ah, the good life However, just the last few days of 90's with matching humidity have us talking REAL summer trip again. Maybe soon! ~G

yesterday it was sunny and 44 degrees at high noon...

with a 55 mph tail wind.

is it june or december?

today is expected to reach a balmy 50

but with even MORE wind to keep the heat at bay..

so it's thursday and i like my airstream because...

today i celebrate the many wonders of her lp gas appliances...

the furnace works, and so does the shower,

the coffee is hot and the omelet spicy...

that quilt on the bed is still useful,

and the pooch is curled up in front of the magic hot air outlet...

soon it will be summer.

cheers

Boy...Big Sur sounds a bit nicer than where I'll be Airstreaming this weekend. I have the tradewind packed and ready to go camping in the Bronx this weekend.

Yup - MetroNY Unit is hosting a Rally at Ft Schuyler which is situated under the Throgs Neck bridge on the banks of the East River.

Boondocking in the Bronx...BRING IT Bi&CH! sorry - just warming up and practicing a little Bronx attitude here.

while my favorite direction to go IS west (when not going s/e/n) while following the sun...

the 20% improvement on fuel/mpg differential with this wind is nice.
