2air,

Actually it is in California. What route did you come down? I40 may be a little far north to avoid cold weather, Flagstaff is about 6000 ft and night time temps dip down below 32.

Have a safe trip back. SYDTR

It's Thursday...

....and I still like my A/S even though I had to pull out the water heater today. It developed a leak, but we were able to finish our trip last weekend with water. Now it's drying out a little, the new upgraded model is ordered. I'm going with Electric ignition this time - no more getting up and dressed in the morning to light the pilot when the wind blew it out.
She may be old, but she's still good and getting better all the time with some TLC.

hi bill

i've checked the long range witchcraft (i mean forecast) on i40 and night temps are to be 26-32 for the next few days.

my unit seems to handle these temps just fine with the central heating set to mid 60s. i disconnect the water hose at night.

daytime highs will be sublime...

if a colder front comes down i'll just drive south!

almost turned west toward your place but i'll save the socal exploration for next year...

really want try a rally with you folks sometime soon.

cheers

it's thursday and i like my airstream because...

the other night I had a decorator/designer friend over for a visit, and she loved the Airstream so much that we ended up having cocktails and laughing away in it for most of the evening!

An Airstream takes Cocktail Hour in the driveway to a whole new level...

Cheers!

It's Thursday and I like my Airstream because...

since my friends and family (and most co-workers) are aware of my obsession, I'll often get phone calls out of the blue, with a conversation starting with, "I'm driving next to an Airstream - do you want to hear about it?" or "My friend's neighbor has an Airstream in his driveway - do you want me to go see what's up with it the next time I'm over there?" Of course my answer is usually "Yes!" Calls like this are infinitely preferable to those that start with, "Guess who died" or "Will you help us move on Saturday?"

it's so aesthetically pleasing. It's a work of art that lifts my spirits every time I look its way. I need it and it needs me. We both need to get out and play from time to time and in our own way we take care of each other. I am actually developing a little mechanical aptitude and I am also learning how to be a little bit more patient. How good is that?

True works of art stir the soul and make you think. I now have a true work of art.

Thanks for the thread.

Going inside is like a trip back to the womb, all safe and snug as a bug in a rug. But without the umbilical cord and it doesn't scream when you come out.

hi dmaiden...

no umbilical cord?
mine is yellow and 30amp

and she always screams when i come out...
"hurry back, lets go, lets go"

ok new tires, centermatics AND shinny stainless doors for the furnace and water heater...

like adding lip gloss or eyeliner....

one side is freshly waxed as well...

so i think she might be smiling...

as her 30,000+ mile brake still have pads with >80% left....

cool.

cheers

I LOVE my airstream everday, but

THIS Thursday LOVE my airstream because...

...She's teaching me and my little family what life is all about; living, loving, and the great outdoors. In the short time we have had her, she's opened up so many new doors for us - new friends, new places, and sooooo much new knowledge.
