Sorry Roger - looking at your weather, you might not want to read the rest of my post.

It's Thursday and I love my airstream because I'm headed for the beach! Sunshine here we come! (Beverly Beach III Rally) Getting a late start due to a slight power issue - fortunately turned out to be a fuse. We're loading up and on our way

Thursday & Airstream is prepping to judge.

The Airstream cooked & won, but this weekend it is time to judge.

Headed to Milledgeville, GA for their annual Sweetwater Festival & BBQ cookoff.

We like our Airstream because it will be a lot more fun than staying at the local Hol. Inn.

Sparky gave us a wonderful trip to Beverly Beach last weekend, complete with great weather, fantastic people, and a safe journey. Now she's settled in for the winter, but I still get to smile each time I pull into the driveway and see her.

Congradulations on the September win and good luck this week end. Wish I could drop by but I have a birthday party and Cub Scout duties to attend to. This weekend looks like would be real great weather for some of that award winning chili!

A Surprise Gift

I like my Airstream because...
I was dumping the tanks and cleaning out some of the more liquid items last night from the GT (20s last night teens tonight), I found she left me a present.
Half a bottle of cough syrup. AKA, Jagermiester. Kept me nice and warm without having to turn on the heater.

Tom.

Similar to Tom's above: it's Thursday and we love our Gypsy because she is safely winterized, lines blown, drains emptied and then refilled with rvantifreeze. Last night I remembered all the "other stuff" so went through all cabinets and cubbies, found lots of liquid-type toiletries, cleaning supplies, meds, canned goods, and. . .three bottles of Corona ~G

because I'm making actual detectable, albeit slow, progress on the Sovereign!

The new bed is double wide (54") and queen long (80"), with lots of storage underneath. The cutoff corner has worked well on the 48"-wide bed I put in the Overlander, so I expect this will be really nice. Yes, it's a pain to make a bed that has walls on three sides, but sometimes I get to leave it unmade (or at least not totally tucked in). Guess when?

And I'll put a nice padded shield along the wall for winter thermal considerations, about 16" high--it'll require a whole sheet of 1/8" luan due to the curve it takes as it rounds the head of the bed (no, it's not a long rectangle, more like a scimitar shape when it's laid flat).

The corner cabinet will have two doors in it (the electrical box is behind it, low to the floor) secured with butler table hinges and hardware. I'll use the pieces that're cut out of the face for the doors, making for a flush look.

Can't wait to start on the storage and desk along the other side (street side).

Zep

man, that is a good idea. i'm going to put that in the ol notebook. i know what you mean about the 3 sided bed. we have one midship in our tradewind. it's a pain to sleep on the wall side, too, especially in teh winter... that aluminum wall can get a might chilly!

It's Thursday, and I like my Airstream:

Because he is all packed and ready for the first Mississippi forums rally. We leave for the campground in the morning.

JP, are you familiar with the coaches that have quilted facings that cover the chilly aluminum walls alongside beds? Zep just referred to this in his posting above. If you are interested, do a search for quilted insulated wall covers. I know there are several threads in the archives that discuss and show some variations of these in photos that members have made and installed. Sounds like you need some cozy wall covers! ~G

Smile Its Thursday and I like the Airstream because...

Like Tom and Georgia I rescued adult beverages from the trailer. Always a treat to find goodies while cleaning up and working in the trailer.

I remembered this morning as I was listening to the news about mice and red wine, here I was fantasizing wow I can live longer, eat fatty goods and drink red wine miss out on cardiac/stroke stuff and eat artery clogging delicacies from grandma's cookbook--just like that diet in the Enquirer--you know the one...
then I remembered whoa they're talking about mice, and where did I leave my rally stash of wine?? Fortunately the mice hadn't heard the news yet, so the wine is now in my glass and the traps are out there, which I understand work uniformly on mice no matter how high their resveratrol levels (from wine) or how rich their diet...

It is Thursday... goodie!

Well folks,

It is Thursday. It is nice to have a day to ponder the wonders of our sweet little Bambi! She did a great job getting us to the NorCal rally and then up to Beverly Beach. Really great times!

Now our "Tardis" is in the garage. Water drained & blown out for winter, and all the liquid storage items back in the house. A little more cleaning and such before we are finished... she probably will have to stay in the garage until the South Beach Rally (Chris, time to post info! ).

Back home and time to think about work. Oh my!

We had a absolutely beautiful drive on the last leg of our journey from Beverly Beach along the Umpqua River in Oregon ~ the fall colors were spectacular. Not to mention "spectacular" but we came home to lots of fall colors on the ground here.... time to rake, rake, rake! The pics below are from our yard....

Because...

I love my Airstream because it is cleaned, prepped, and waiting for me to pick up at the dealer in Manteca tomorrow morning. I have the truck packed and just need to throw in my clothes bag. Then, after I get the walkthrough, I am off to Cloverdale, CA for the shakedown cruise/weekend.
