The awning is fixed, the trailer is loaded, the dogs are ready and we are gone! 3days of flyfishing and airstreaming. What could be better?

it's thursday and i like my airstream because...

most of the accumulated repair issues are now fixed...
plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and other things
bearing repacked...went 23k on the original factory grease...

so a new list will start tonight!

and as much as i like visiting the mother ship....

i'll be happy to be on the road to kentucky later today...

camping is good.
cheers

I can look out back and snuggled nicely under the trees is our baby, set up and ready for one last camp-out when my wife returns from Scotland next week. It's been tough watching the weather turn from hot to warm'ish and not be out in a campground somewhere, but that is about to change and we'll get one (heck, maybe even two) good weekends away yet this fall.

...because Saturday I pick her up from the dealer with a fresh new awning on the road side and rear window and will spend Satruday night in a campground near the dealer before heading back home Sunday afternoon.

We have at least two more camping trips this season, maybe a third in December and will giver her a rest in January before starting a new season in February. That's one of the great thing about the south: extended camping seasons!

. . .because she just took us safely there (to Colorado Rockies and Aspen gold) and back (home) again, a wonderful trip after a YEAR of no Airstreaming. (moving and home remodeling) She delivered us safely, but she took a hit when I neglected to fasten down all her hatches adequately A dinette window loosened, opened, and shattered in the wind while we were traveling. Now she sits in our drive, ducktaped and plasticized, until we can get her into Bill Thomas for window replacement. Sigh. Anyway, we loved getting back on the road with her again, and saw quite a few Airstreams enroute, including a Base Camp. None returned our waves that we could see, but we counted them as trophies anyway!

Yay! Got the Sovereign out of storage an in the back yard, where I can do some more work--enclose the bathroom, new bed and storage. I'm getting ready to take her to Las Cruces the end of next month. Got the propane tanks filled and mounted, so she looks ready to go already.

A light bulb moment.
My neighbor is use to our parking 80 or more lbs. of pork for a weekend event in their extra frig. "Something wrong with your Airstream's refrig.?" He says.

Light comes on and I wonder, why didn't I think of that!

So the Airstream gives us another Thursday to pat her on the tail-end.

it Thursday and I love my Airstream

Right now I love my Airstream (Stella) because we are preparing for our first forum rally!!!! My wife and I are doing some funky things to her interior to make her fun when we show her off during the open house. Just a hint but can you imagine a multi color string curtain in your Airstream.... .....? Next week a photo I promise.

It's Thursday and I love my Airstream because

in the morning we head up to our Airstream at Highland Haven Airstream Park and camp tomorrow night in temps in the 30s. What fun to sleep under all those quilts. The trees are showing signs of fall colors and it's a beautiful time of the year in the Virginia highlands. The whitetail bucks have rubbed off their velvet, have turned in their orange summer coats for gray winter ones and black bear have been sighted fattening up on berries for their winter naps. Happy Trails

It is Thursday! Yippie!

Once again time to think of our sweet Airstream! We just returned from our trip to Yosemite. Had a wonderful time! Saw only one other 'stream in the campground. Our little Bambi followed us close but safely behind! Every day as we sat in her, or got ready for bed we would both chime out loud that we love our little Bambi and she is just right for us!

As we left our home and headed out for our journey nearly 2 weeks ago... we had the CD player turned on and sang loudly to the tunes of the Trailer Park Troubadours ~ "Livin' in aluminum" as we headed down interstate 5!

I have a couple of pics in the Yosemite thread, but here are a couple of others!

Its Thursday and I love my airstream because...

Tomorrow at this time we will be on our way to the Mojave desert. The weather will be fine. Warm enough for cold beer during the day and cool enough for a campfire at night. Life is good.

. . .because Saturday night we'll pack out with grandsons 5 and 8 to overnight camp in Gypsy just a few hundred yards from our house. . .full moon over the pond. . .Halloween stories to read for bedtime! Er. . .maybe we better pass on the spooky stories if we want any sleep. Campfire and marshmallows, listen for the fish splash. . .can't wait! ~Grandma Georgia

It's Thursday, and I like my Airstream because . . . .

The new vintage style awning from VTS has been shipped, my 12V oulet now works, my ceiling vent fans work and I didn't have to sacrifice my original Hehr vents, and by Monday I'll have a new Sealand Traveler Lite toilet. YES!!!

because tomorrow we're taking out the old Overlander for a weekend by the Pacific Ocean. The first time since my Texas trip in July. Geez, I hope I remember how to hook it up...
