ok folks......

WHO MOVED MY CHEESE or more correctly CARROTS?

i see that one of the mods has moved this thread to the 'off topic' forum....AND WHY?

i started it in the 'community polls' forum for a reason.

it is a weekly community poll of reasons to 'like our airstreams' and that's it.

many of the polls listed don't have 'voting' and aren't tabulated.

'what do you do for work' is another fine example of an ongoing community poll like this....

and there are LOTS of other COMMUNITY POLLS without formal voting..

besides someday i might actually tabulate and classify all of these wonderful reasons....

it is true that the last 2 weeks some folks are using this weekly poll for other discussions....

i'm fine with that and eventually it will return to it's true nature...A WEEKLY POLL....

wouldn't it really be better to move the vintage awning questions and camping gathering to threads on those topics... if that is the reason.

the vintage awning posts might actually be useful to others in the future if pasted into one of the vintage awning threads...

so who moved it, why and how about just put it back?

it's a community poll so it is bound to zigzag a little now and then, but it is clearly not an OFF TOPIC thread.

kindly just put it back.

regards
2air'

dufferin,

I had exactly the same question. Give them a call. Tanya knows exactly what to do, just talk to her.

Tell her to put a photo on their web page for Vintage Trailers!

They are amazing there, when we finally take the awning plunge we will get ours from them. She sent out fabric samples, helped me in numerous emails, etc. They are super helpful.

Liking / enjoying the AS more everyday

Since Last Thursday

Found, received, & installed,
AC interior shroud for a 23 yr. old Coleman.
Looks great!
New in box for $38.

Installed new 12v converter.
Ordered one day before price increase.
Saved $10.

Installed new lav. faucet with longer spout and
repaired leak in old gray poly plumbing.
Well spent $75.

Arrived. Stainless portable gas grill that unexpectedly
looks like an Airstream accessory with nice curves & rounded ends.
Hope it cooks as good as it looks. $72.

Unplugged AC drain line
with compressed air (thank you AS forum).
Perfect at $00.

Completed the twin to double bed conversion and,
found that our previously unused air mattress is very comfortable.
$105 for materials and cozy bedroom.

Leaving tomorrow
for a long and lazy labor day weekend on the family farm.
Lots of shade, pasture & quiet.
Priceless……

ps
139 words and never mentioned awning.
unbelievable.

Would love to see pictures of the grill.

It is taking some practice for me to get used to the one I have.

It's Thursday and I like my Airstream becaus...

After work tonight we take her down to FDR State park (an hours drive away from home) and set her up for the week end and return tomorrow after work for a relaxing long week end of fishing, horseback riding, touring the local wild animal preserve, and R-n-R by the camp fire.

With Ernesto out of the picture and temps in the mid-80's it sure looks like a good week end to have an extra day in.

It's Thursday

It's Thursday and he likes our Airstream because my husband is just about to leave for 2 days with it to go dove hunting up in Corning..he can cook, eat, washup and sleep in it instead of tenting outside where the rattlers are out there.

It's Thursday and I like my Airstream because the first heavy downpour in several weeks revealed no leaks in our Safari.

Smile Its Thursday and I like the Airstream because...

Even though I'm staying home with the Airstream while hubby bicycles his way to the Mackinac Bridge, I'll be green machining the oxidation marks off the fuzzy white trailer walls listening to music and dreaming of towing Margaritaville to the next exciting location--the Airstream Forums women's rally!

Is that how you clean them? I forgot to ask while I was in JC earlier during the summer.

I just got more aluminum accesories. Aluminum porpane tanks, aluminum wheel lock and a aluminum jack pad. Also I think I set a record for the shortest period of owning a Argosy. 4 hours start to finish!! WOW

Ah.... Thursday!

It is Thursday and time to once again advertise my devotion to my Airstream! Our "S Tardis" is sitting in the back yard waiting patiently for us to take her somewhere once again. No definite plans until mid Sept. when we go to Yosemite! The weather has felt more and more like fall here and the leaves are already beginning to turn a bit. Hopefully, when we get to Yosemite fall will be in full swing (early, yes...) Yosemite is always beautiful in the fall!

It is Thursday and I just my Airstream!

... because for the first time since 1992, two vehicles of mine, swollen by another couple that I inherited, are sitting on family-owned land. It still feels STRANGE to be home (but Betsy's luvin' havin' her own pole. Gee, I can run the microwave and the A/C without popping a breaker now. Or... I could walk down to the house and get some REAL food.)

It's Thursday and I like my Airstream because . . .

. . . one week from today we will be heading up the highway through Oregon and Washington, to visit our California-transplant friends in Idaho. Plan to be 'streamin' for about six weeks. This will be the longest journey so far in our 2006 Bambi Safari SE, and we are counting the days. Going to take it slow and easy so we can take it all in (once we're out of L.A. that is!).

Thursday. Pull of the Airstream & BBQ

Thursday, a good Airstream day, what's not to like?

Today we are setting up the Airstream for a weekend BBQ competition.
Hopefully, since this is the AS’s first cook-off, she will bring us good luck.
We have cooked in many events but expect this to be the most comfortable.
My daughter is flying in from Oklahoma and will be here to help with the cooking for the first time. Maybe she will have some beginner’s luck also.

Wish us luck, there is prize money at stake and "Good Eats"!

ps Since the Airstream joined the family the weekends seem to start a day earlier. Sometimes I think she is pulling us.

It's Thursday and we love our Airstream because. . .we just visited Bill Thomas in St. Louis and found several little items for Gypsy that we discovered she needed while we were waxing her (waxing does promote a thorough inspection!). . .AND she'll be on the road before next Thursday when we pull out for the Gunnison-Crested Butte area of Colorado. Can we hear a drum roll here since after months, we have finally settled on our destination for this fall trip? ~G
