Yippie ~ Thursday!
Yippie! It is Thursday and it is "finally" time to once again laud praises for our sweet little Airstream ~ "Tardis". (Tardis = Time and relative distance in space)
I finally found time to work on the curtains for our Airstream. Got the basics done, but still have several finishing touches. So far, pleased with the outcome. Won't finish this week ~ going camping tomorrow! Goodie!

It's Thursday
It's almost the end of Thursday for me, just got back from taking my mom out for her 87th b-day..also present were cousins who came to visit a few days from Honolulu, and my hubby and son..the cousins weren't familiar w/Airstreams on the Island of Oahu..apparently they're as rare as a $3 dollar bill...so I had to expound on the wonderment and enjoyment of our Sarari!..

Well, it's not Thursday for me either, but I love my Airstream because we just returned from a week end in the North Georgia Mountains and drove back in a heavy rain and didn't do any damage to the Airstream the whole week end!!!!
That's a major accomplishment for me! Now, backing into the camp site was entertainment for all those who were at their camp sites in the pet section... but I didn't hit anything. No deer, no guard rails, nothing! Oh, and no colapsed awnings during the thunderstorms either. All-in-all a good week end for the "Changes in Lattitudes".
BTW, my wife said the other teachers at her school were all waiting to hear what the latest installment would be in the saga of the Evans family Airstream dent trilogy!

because I was on the road!!
I was on the road from DeKalb area to the Milwaukee area!! The caravan was fun, the trailer pulled great and the goucho worked as it should.
I have to confes that one of the sets of drapes has failed. One out of the set is not too bad.

it's thursday and i like my airstream because....
it can never be reclassified as 'nearly a trailer'
it's got plenty of gravitational pull
and orbits with ease
and shines bright
while leaving a trail of star dust...
or is that aluminum shavings?
and will be near the terraport soon...
beam up ne1 k'no b?
cheers

it's thursday and i like my airstream because...
of the people it has enabled me to meet in the past...
and in the future...
of the places i have been able to go...
the things i have seen...
of the places i have been able to camp...
to relax...and reflect...
of living in a place where anything...
is possible...
I look back on the origin of this thread by 2air,our wascally wabbit Airstream friend. His hope was to start a lasting thread for his 500th post.A milestone thread which might even surpass 10,000 views as so few others have.
It has come to pass.Kudos to you 2air for starting the thread.
How will you top this for your fast approaching 1500th post?

It's been a great week in Vegas and, even better, it's exactly 7 days from when I'll be hooking up and .... on the road again (picture gray ponytail and guitar, here ) ... back to Colorado! Maybe I can visit some of our Albuquerque or Santa Fe members on the way!
In the mean time, Mbuti keeps me insulated in Sin Sity.

Thursdays
I like my Airstream
because It has a lot of class
not to mention all the curved glass.
Mrs. P likes the Airstream
because boondocking is a new word
and mixing in something new is always preferred.
Our neighbors like the Airstream
because when they see it depart
they all play in our yard like it was a city park.
Rusty would have loved the Airstream
because any pet loves to travel
maybe we should consider a new pet to help us unravel.

I like my Airstream because all the other teachers told my wife they were so proud of me!
This week end won't see camping, but will see a trip to the North Georgia Camping & RV Show and a few chores around the house including installing a rear seat on the golf cart so it'll be ready for the Labor Day Week End trip to FDR State Park.

She gives me the escape I need.....
I'll be away from my Caravel for a while. She is all set up for the North Georgia Rally when I return. I will have 5 days (for now) to replace the axle when I get home. This trip will help cover the costs. Went to Camping World today and bought a few needed items to help her along. Do camping stuff (even planning) puts a big smile on my wifes face - made for a great THURSDAY together.
For this thread and keeping with the theme - it's my last THURSDAY to see her and my family for 7 weeks. The Caravel is the escape pod for my wife. One reason to having her is Katrina. Loaded up and ready to get away has a different meaning now days on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

It's Thursday and I love my Airstream because she keeps me dreaming of far away places and loved trips of the past, even when it's been over a year since we've taken her out on the road. We're getting close though-after Labor Day! Maybe on a Thursday, we'll head out again to see what's around the bend. Hope we pass some of you on the road or meet you round the campfire ~G

It's Thursday and I love my Airstream, because I can learn so much about other Airstreams and meet so many cool owners on the Forums..Seems everyone has his or her own opinion on such an array of topics, and I love that the most!

It's Thursday and I love my Airstream because she's at the storage yard and I don't have to work on it tonight.
. . . 6 months later . . .
It's Thursday and I love my Airstream because she's at the storage yard and all I have to do is hook up and leave.

Well its still up in the air. I can't think of anywhere cool that won't be booked out so we'll probably head to the desert.
I have Bagdad crossing in mind. Bagdad crossing is a dirt road that crosses the railroad tracks between ludlow and amboy on rte. 66. You are welcome to join us for some dirtroad boondocking.
I'll be going with two other camping couples.
If you know a place that will be under 100 degrees between L.A. & Sacto we can meet up.
