It's still Thursday, and I love my airstream because it is air conditioned and relatively bug-tight here by the lake at Fort Parker SP. And the Sauvignon Blanc is just the right temperature.

Tomorrow will be a workamping day, in fact. 4 bars of faux-G signal means I'll be living the dream AND funding eventual retirement!

It's Thursday and I Like My Airstream Because...

...we finished menu planning for the Columbus Day Weekend, have the extra blankets ready to go, pack up tomorrow and head out for a glorious Montana weekend (- then probably blow out and winterize by next Thursday!)

It's Thursday, and I Like My Airstream Because...

...It has brought me back to Mesa, AZ in the Valley of the Sun
To the Saguaro cacti, the towering palms, and the peach-faced parrots.
Where we will attend all the wonderful Airstream Rallies
That the Four Corners Unit enjoys while others are covered in snow.

We love our Airstream Interstate because it has, once again, carried us safely, beautifully, economically and very happily to and fro, hither and yon, thru western, northern and eastern states.

Ending our longest trip yet, at 130 consecutive days away from home, we have visited familiar places and also new ones, made new friends and spent time with old ones.

Life is good. We are all so fortunate.

Travel safe,

Maggie

It's Thursday.... and I'm cleaning inside and doing maintenance in preparation for our trip to the mountains to see the fall leaves. Then we're soon on our way south for the winter.
Get'n excited about the road trips, since we've been home most of the summer, only two nights in the trailer since March!

I am working from home right now (in a house) but the trailer is in the driveway. Some of my files are in the trailer. So, whenever I run out to the trailer to get a file, I want to stay there because it's a lot warmer than the house. It's cool and sunny - the inside of the Airstream warms up nicely on days like this. The trailer feels really cozy - I could snuggle up with a book right now - but too much work to do!

So, that is why I like the trailer today!

Got a yummy ice cream recipe that you would share with an Airstreamer?

Have lots of ice cream recipes.
Vanilla ice cream
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla
1/2 pint whipping cream
2 cans Eagle Brand condensed milk
1 1/2 quarts milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
Combine eggs, cream, sugar, salt, and vanilla in bowl and mix well with mixer (borrowed from someone in the campground).
Pour into can, add condensed milk and stir well.
Add milk to fill line on can and stir.
Churn in freezer per instructions.
Makes approx. 4 quarts .

Actually, it is easy, sounds really icky, but is really yummy! Last weekend camping, one of our friends insisted that we try it- vanilla ice cream with chocolate wine poured over it.... I know, CHOCOLATE WINE??? Why would you do that to wine...chocolate? My thoughts exactly...BUT I tried it, I like it, and will surely do it again....her tip was that it didn't matter if it was the $5 bottle or $12 bottle- so buy the cheap stuff and enjoy!

...because its just awesome! It's at the dealer, awaiting some warranty work (including clearance light castings) and since its going to be freezing tonight at the dealer, it's been winterized while there. I just can't wait to tow it back to CT and step inside it again! Camping will need come soon enough!!!!
