........ becouse we are packed and ready to go tomarrow to GA for the "THANG" rally. Our first rally of the year after the Can Opener in January. Been a busy year for me and now it's time to have fun.
2AIR and friends, As one who has had to depend on blood transfusions to stay alive for the last 14 months, a HUGE "Thank You" to all the donors (especially all you A+ type people - but then maybe all Airstreamers are A+!) Another type of donation I'm about to be blessed with is bone marrow. The National Bone Marrow Donor resigstry maintains a listing of all volunteer donors and matches them with patients in need of transplants. New methods of extracting bone marrow stem cells from the blood instead of the painful process of extracting it directly from bone makes for a much easier way to donate. Still, there's a weeks worth of shots for the donor and then about a 4 hour extraction process, so it's not a walk-in/walk-out deal. I'm extremely fortunate because the National Registry was able to find a perfect match on the first try. Very amazing - I didn't realize there was another Norwegian Curmugeon out there! The fight against blood cancers is making progress and bone marrow donations are making a major contribution. Check with your doctors, of course, but all of those still waiting for a donor would be grateful for the help. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Darol
It's Thursday and once again I like my Airstream, because...
we just returned from the Southeast-End-of-Summer Rally Thang and had a great time with old friends and new. We got to share great fellowship...great bar-b-que chicken and great pancakes-thanks empresley for a great job on the rotisserie and griddle.
Can't wait for our next adventure in 2-1/2 weeks and then on to the next rally!

Because it was a great place after Ike took away our power, phones and water. My MH provided all the comfort of home with generetor power for tv coverage so we could stay informed , lights, bathroom and full kitchen facilities. It also ran my ref. and freezer via extention cords to the house. -- Power restored today, now I must get busy cleaning and restocking to go to Albuquerque for the balloon fiesta on Oct 3.
Best, best, best wishes for you, Darol, and great appreciation for that other "curmudgeon" who donated for you. Thank you for sharing the progress in blood marrow donorship...I suspect that many of us did not know this. ~G

It's Thursday and I love my A/S because in two weeks we will be in Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta and get to rally with many more people who love their A/S and allows me to gain that many more new friends.
It's Thursday and we love our Airstream because we got the call from Out Of Doors Mart letting us know that the new frig had been installed and various check ups and mods performed. We're picking her up tomorrow and trying her out. Can't wait because this is a great time of year to get out there.

Kind of new to be getting a new 'fridge isn't it?

I'm packing up to head out for the Mother Ship. My appointment is on Monday, but I'm leaving Saturday afternoon and will take two days to get out there (even though it's only a 9-10 hour drive).
