First, I'll say I have three. A 1966 Overlander, 1966 Safari, 1970 Safari. But how many do I "really" need? How many do you have? How many feels "just right"? Why do we need so many? The reason I ask? I need new reasons to keep all three when all I really use is one.

You're joking - right? How many is enough? Ha. You never know when that extra Airstream is going to come in handy. Company could come, long lost relatives could arrive on your door step, you could open up an Airstream hotel - you just never know... Keep 'em, keep 'em all!
On edit - you said you needed new reasons to keep them?
1. They look cool
2. Airstream addiction is not fattening, doesn't kill brain cells and IS legal
3. Martha Stewart living might want to do a cover spread on the well decorated property - and you could be famous.
4. If none of this works for you.. well, send the extras to me and I'll hold on to them for you....

Well, you definitely need one for camping and perhaps another as a storage crib for parts. Another for use as as a guest house would be convenient.
Got a pool? An AS trailer is an ideal changing room.
Are you joking? One is one too many. I have no time for camping. I'm too busy working on my camper, tool crib and guest house.

Started with one, then needed another to have for a spare, you know guest house. Then found one setting beside the road, just begging to come home. Well that's 3 and you know we have not stopped looking for a fourth

I've had as many as three at once at different times. I now have the 34' Behemoth and a 16' Scamp though. I'd have a 16' Bambi, but I like the modern conveniences of a new trailer so that rules out the vintage trailers (I HAD a '61 Bambi from '98-'01) and I'm not willing to spend $2300/linear foot for a new one. So... the Scamp has a lovely honey oak custom interior with all of the niceties of the Bambi at a third the cost... sorry Airstream!

I've only got one that I use. I could see having another just for show. By show, I mean I'd want to keep it all original and I wouldn't enjoy actually using an early Airstream that was all original. I like the creature comforts. I wouldn't have the heart to modernize something older.
You people are CRUEL...in a neat way, of course! Here I am DYING to find the right one I can afford, pinching every penny I can find. And then I hit on THIS thread. Talk about pouring salt into the wounds!
I'm just jealous, that's all. (The following is supposed to sound pithetic, and should arouse sympathy in your heart): You go ahead and enjoy your expanded family of lovable Airstreams. I'll just sit here in my lonely driveway with my beautiful wife, 2 children, and our Cairn Terrier (Rocky)...waiting for someone to drive up, unhitch their AS, and say, "HO, HO, HO! Merry Christmas!"
Honestly, if I were YOU, I'd be doing the same thing (ha!). Enjoy the fruit of your labor! God is good, huh?
We started with one, which is all that fits in our driveway. We were completely happy with the Safari, and had almost finished our work on it, when I drove past a little Caravel that looked like it needed a loving home. I drove past 3 more times, then stopped for a closer look. I called my husband, and took some pictures. We discussed it that afternoon, and after a bit he said, "We're going to own another Airstream tomorrow, aren't we?" Well, the Caravel now lives in our neighbor's/best friend's driveway, and he's cool with it, but I don't think we can talk any other neighbors to host trailers for us. We are keeping an eye out for property, though - just in case we ever need to adopt more Airstreams!
"They" say there is a 12 step program for people like us, Personally I don't see that I have a problem, maybe the neighbors have that inclanation Be we look at it more as a hobby
