We're a family with younger children

Number 1 turned five in January; Number 2 turned four in February.

Number 1 & I make camp in the Overlander (in the driveway) just about every weekend.

Post grandkids camping

There is no category for part time grandkids...we take ours several times a year but not every time we go camping...

Most of the time it's my hubby, "Miss Lily" and myself. Sometimes it's just Lily & me...

Me, my wife, sometimes our reluctant teenage daughter (age 17), and occasionally a high school age foreign exchange student.

My daughter finds driving and camping boring. She liked our trip to Chicago in April, when we brought her friend along. In two years she will be off to college and I hope that we can travel more. If I just had more vacation time from work...

Just a couple of...

We took children along in "inexpensive" SOB with bunks for 14 years, until they graduated from college and became too cool and too busy working to travel with us... At that point, sold "Casa de Cardboard" (named for prolific use of imitation wood inside with laminated wood covering..) and bought the Condoluminum. With living area up front, queen bed in rear, and no pets, it is perfect couples unit, and gets us out of routine and into a different mental state in short order...

No grandchildren on horizon, but try survey again in 5 years to see if things change...

Mostly it's my hubby, Max, and me. Occasionally, we are joined by our oldest son who has health problems and lives with us, but he usually does not enjoy the change in his routine enough to want to camp or travel. Arranging for his wellbeing when we take a trip is a major hurdle for our "two-some" trips. Occasionally, we have one or a couple of our four grandsons. The older two are 16 and 14 this summer and love to camp. The youngest two are 7 and 4, and they'll be coming along soon, I'll bet. Usually our camping with the grandkids is in a family group camping situation where some of our four kids and their children join us. Just the two of us or more, we love to camp with "Gypsy!"

We remodeled the interior of our motor home just to add an extra bed for our grandson. He travels with us wherever we go. When we are feeling very young and adventerous we take our Dalmation, Spot. He sleeps on the captain's chair up front.

I camp with my wife, 9 and 5 year old sons and our 3 year old Golden Retriever. We stopped tent camping and purchased our Airstream because we could not leave the Golden in the tent when would go on side trips. Now, with the Airstream, I can not get the kids back in the tent.

On many of our trips we have friends that tag along for the weekend or in the case of our recent trip to NC we spent 10 days with 2 other couples and their children.

Like many others, it is the two of us, and Cookie, our Peek-a-Poo. But, don't tell her she is a dog, she thinks she is human, and has us well-trained to see to her comfort while camping .

There's my wife and I and our 4 y/o son. He likes the trailer. One time we had unhooked at a CG and were going into town for supplies; as we were driving away, he yelled out "OH NO, DAD, WE FORGOT THE TRAILER!"

He also insists on helping with lowering the stabilizers. A very helpfull little guy.

I Travel With The Circus

Well I'm 42 with no kids, usually it's me, my wife and four boxers, but more often lately "SOUTHERN COMFORT" my 28 ARGOSY MH is full nieces and nephews ages 7 to 14. It is a blast, I usually get carried away and set up a survivor obstacle course challenge which turns out to be a three ringed circus with even adult competing.

The same thing happened with our 4 y.o. daughter when we took the Safari to the Service Center a few weeks ago for a new furnace. On the way home after dropping it off we stopped at a light and she yelled out, "Oh No! We lost Mrs. Trailer!" I'm sure this has something to say about 4 y.o. development but I don't know what it is.
