Funniest Things

I was in a campground this week looking at a unit someone was wanting to trade in on an Airstream...while making my way through the park I noticed a gentleman (term used lightly) using his outside shower...you guessed it...

IN HIS UNDERWEAR!!!

I almost ran off the road laughing.

Then I thought that would be a really good thread...

Funniest or Craziest things I have seen in a campground!

Pictures would just be a big plus!!!

So let's hear those stories...we all need a good laugh!

Gene

Well, it's not really funny, but on a couple of occasions I have seen people with camp fires so close to their campers it was definetly crazy! I don't have pix...

Funniest thing I saw in a campground was when I looked out the window and a fully assembled dome tent walking down the road, all you could see was the tent and some feet.

Another funny sight was a rainy day for tent campers. On the picnic table across from the tent was a tv playing under a small rain umbrella as they watched from their sleeping bags on the ground inside.

Gene, there ought to be a law to have a shower enclosure for that! At least he wasn't nude. Guess we would have been laughing our heads off in amusement and disbelief. People are funny.

Does this count?

Well, there was this guy I knew who had just bought his first mistral blue trailer and he was on his maiden voyage ... He was starting to get the hang of things about a week into his trip: by day 2, he had already run the battery dry - and replaced that. On day 3, he noticed one of his tires was developing some bubbles on the sidewall - so he replaced that. On day 4, he managed to break a part on his new zip dee awning - so he knew he would have to replace that too. Days 5 & 6, were relatively uneventful. He actually kinda felt at home now at an Airstream only park in PA (Pennwood) with its perfectly manicured lawn and babbling brook. He was only a day's drive from home and he hadn't killed anybody yet. He and his family had had a wonderful time. Setting up and tearing down was becoming second nature. We were Streamers!!! (Oops, I meant "they.")

So on the final morning at Pennwood, my friend told his DW to go ahead and take some final pictures of the place. He could make the rig ready by himself! Everytime before this morning, however, my friend's DW double checked everything my idiot friend did to make the rig ready. Not this morning of course.

After my friend Bozo (not his real name) finally hitched her up, he jumped into his Tahoe and started to pull. What a sight! A shiny black Tahoe pulling a mistral blue Argosy across a beautifully lush, green lawn. A large and smooth "S" turn was in order to pick up his lovely and adoring soulmate... Silently they glided over to meet her on the driveway... He was on top of the world... What a great life!

Kkr@#%TkvX*&!?>@, X@kg%#vg!!, STOP!!! What was that?!?

Bozo jumped out and ran to his trailer. DW was standing there and staring with her mouth open. But not at the trailer or the truck. She slowly walked past her Bozo and on to that beautiful lawn with her left hand now holding her forehead. Bozo didn't know what her problem was so he turned his attention back to the rig and happened to notice a large clump of turf had attached itself to his jack. Bozo examined the situation and said to himself, "That's strange." and then noticed that all of the residents of this fine Airstream park were all coming out to say good morning to him! How nice thought Bozo. But they didn't look to happy...

Yep. My "friend" forgot to raise the jack and that perfect lawn looked like Superman paid them a visit. Fortunately for my friend, the people at Pennwood couldn't have been nicer about the whole situation.

Bozo eventually fixed the awning and replaced the jack too.

Talking

I saw something kind of funny today. A forty foot class A SOB motor home with SIX (!!!) 15000btu rooftop air conditioner units mounted on it. I guess they want to store sides of beef in the closets while camping...

And if you really wanted to make a scene, you could strategically hold the shower hose so it could spray at a really wierd angle for spectators to view...

Must have been borrowed M/H

We watched (rainy day) as an older M/H pulled up to a dump station. The driver pulled back and forth several times trying to get it lined up "Just Right" as he couldn't find the hose. We couldn't imagine what he was doing but continued to watch. He had trouble getting the cap off the end of the sewer line so sat down on the ground to get more leverage. Actually strattled the pipe and started to twist with all his might. I think you're now getting the image...........the owner or at least the former user of this unit left the drain valve open. When it happened...........he had a lap full. Got up, looked around to see if anyone saw his little trick, used his hands to scrap off his newly found treasue and jumped in the M/H and drove out of the park with a green haze following him thru the gates..........Not a pretty site.

Several years ago we were in our favorite campground, weathering a deluge, sitting in our cabin cruiser (outdrive blew up on day #1 of the outing), on the trailer, parked by our drenched tent. The neighbors arrived earlier in a Winnebago with no exhaust and plenty of green stuff growing on most of the exterior, opended the awning and dispersed the contents of an unsuccesful lawn sale about the area.

So far not a top 10 outing, huh?

You guessed it, crash and down comes the Winnebago's moldy 20 year old awning.

So the next morning the neighbors climb up on the RV and used ROCKS from the fire pit to hold the torn edge of the awning back on top of the roof...

We left before the headaches were handed out .
