Forums use Poll: Fun, fan or need a fix?
I've been noticing that every time I pass my desk, I refresh the Forums Portal page. Does this make me a forums addict? Do I need to go to a meeting? How about the rest you...
How often do you check in, what kind of user are you?

I'm the kind of user who is afraid she may need a twelve step program. I check on the forum at work between clients, when I come home for lunch and when I come home after work and then one last time before I go to bed. I don't want to miss something that I may need down the restoration and camping road.

Sometimes I get up in the middle of the night just to see if there are any interesting new threads.
Don't believe me? Check the time stamp on some of my postings.

Almost always on the computer at home and work. My boss's are in to camping with SOB's, but love that fact that I am crazy enough to rebuild a vintage coach. Our IT guys like that I have it up and running so they can "look" in and let me get the blame. Always leaning something new and adding to my list of to do's.

Hi. My name is Terry, and I am a Forumaholic.
I know I can stop visiting the forum whenever I want, I just don't want to stop...

I was afraid I had it bad, but I have never gotten up in the middle of the night...... yet. My wife has said I have not been paying enough attention to her lately though.

First and last
First thing I check when I boot up in the morning. Last thing I check at night before I shut down. In between, I check it a few times.
I never look at the prtal page. I just keep hitting "New Posts" from the forums page.

I live on the portal page. I'm disapointed when I go to a VB forum that doesn't have a portal page, because I'm so spoiled by this one! I check in all the time. If I'm at my desk for a few minutes, I'll bring it up just to see what's going on. I sometimes don't hear Dave talking to me because I'm busy reading a post (but he does the same thing to me when he's playing online games, so all's fair). I guess I'm kind of addicted, but I ain't hurtin' no one.

Always running in the background at work...
I find it helps to have a complicated spreadsheet open at the same time, so that if anyone comes into my office, I can switch to that and frown in concentration. A messy desk also adds to the perception that I'm very busy...

I check the forum from a conputer on the domain at work. That system has no auditing of internet useage. That system (I have 4+ in my cube) has the monitor located so that you have to enter the cube to see the display. I also agree with Mel about the messy area!

Work has been super busy here at the Crimson Permanent Assurance. I do find time to check the forum between "management realignments."

Yes, yes, and yes
While the forum is not always on in the background, it is almost always on in the background. The winter weather and being home makes this the next best thing to being in, out, or by the Airstream.

My log-ins are inconsistent. All the poll options apply to my usage one time or another.
The forum is a great way for me to take my mind off business for a short while.

CONFESSION:I work irregular hours and am on the road a lot, but whenever possible, I check in at least twice a day. I've even been known to fire up the aircard while on a long road trip. Typically, at home I have two or three browser windows, on as many topics, open at any given time. Having been on the internet since before it was widely used (long before those perty pictures and hyperlinks, when you had to actually type in commands), I confessed years ago to being an information junkie. At work, I have two computers on my desk (research!), and my tech support girl usually comes to me for advice on internet problems. A while back, my wonderful wife of twenty five years also expressed some concerns about the amount of time I was spending on-line. So naturally I bought her her own computer, and showed her how to use it. Now, in addition to Airstreams, we just have another common interest. I have other hobbies too, like bicycling and shooting.
For some reason, I feel better now.

Shared Forum Interest
I usually check this forum first and sometimes more than once a day but I'm finding myself visiting RV.net as well!

Gee....
I can stop anytime, really, IF I wanted too.
The kids can wait, (Bambi and Minuet), and the wife (the ever sheik Mona CCD) understand too.....
ok, I admit it, I've got it BAD. I check in multiple times of the day (and night too!)
Thank you all for my addiction!

The frequency of attention to the forums varies with the intensity of the problem or project. Sometimes life gets in the way and it may be days. Other times it may be constant vigilance. It's just reassuring to know that the information one needs is not far away. I am truly thankful for our bountiful blessings in cyber space.

Now that I have a ton of free time on my hands ... and access to broadboand while wintering in AZ ... I check the "New Posts" quite often ... day and night.
I also tend to obsess over my karma ... after all, it's all about me!
