Right now mine is keeping the grass from growing so I don't have to mow it It is also consuming my spending allowance at an alarming rate But the reason we bought it was to camp in the lap of luxury well at least have a well built hard side around us.

Why are we in this basket...and where are we going
We're out on the road ... livin' in high style ... fulltiming for almost a month now. Currently we are parked in the middle of an orange grove in Bakersfield.
I use my Caravel for camping wherever the road takes me, whether in the lap of luxury or mingling with tent campers. Prestige was not a factor for me in buying an Airstream. Longevity, reliability, style, easy towing and comfort led me to AS.

I bought an airsteam because I needed one. I had been sleeping in my van
at least 75 nights a year. Mostly at Bluegrass festivals. Mostly boondocking.
The daughters started tagging along and have major hair needs. Having
a trailer also lengthened the season. Now I am living in the lap of necessity.
I second Aaron!! Here, here. The man speaks the truth.
Though I wish the trailer would limit itself to my spending money and stay out of the house hold buget.

Well, I use to tent camp over 20 days a year in all kinds of weather. It might be 92 degrees/sunny one day and 14-28 degrees the next day. All but 2 of these days would be during deer hunting. Since I added turkey hunting in TN. 3 years ago, I have added another 10 days of using the Airstream as a hunting cabin during the spring season.

We went to a family camping trip three years ago. Everyone in the family had tailers or popups except us.
We had to sleep on a air mattress in a small tent. It was awful. It rained the entire weekend and we were both miserable. I came back home early cause i felt so bad from the ground and damp.
We vowed we wouldn't go again until we had a trailer and of course the only trailer we wanted was an airstream. Hey we have not been in this area of the country to go to any of the later family camping trips. we are too busy being on the road!!!

There are two ways to die in the desert.
One is by thirst and the other is drowning.
I have been camping since the 60's. Started in tents, then a 5th wheel, then 3 different motor homes, then 3 different trailers and I have now purchased a AS. Based on all of the different types of campers I have owned, this is the best built unit of all. I hope to own my AS for a long time. My answer is yes to all three.
We haven't changed our camping tastes or locales since we bought the Airstream. Our tastes towards staying at sites with hookups started back in our pop up days.
