As a rolling "clean" house- and I'm not talking about dirt, but avoidance of chemicals.
I realised the other day I cant even remember having a window open in this house.( 11 years this july) Either it's too =too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry, too windy, too polluted, too much pollen.Maybe I can experience again the simple joy of sleeping with the window open at night, if I'm upwind from everyone!!!!! I use mine for business. Basically a luxury hotel room with cooking facilities that I can drag my computer and technical library around with me on my consulting assignments. I travel 35 to 46 weeks per year throughout the Southeast as a computer programmer/database consultant and I was sick of the Interstate motel ghettos and chain restaurants. To complicate life, I am a long term vegetarian and an avid cook, which in places like Andreson, SC is too weird for the local tastes. I bought my 30' Classic on May 3rd and now I actually enjoy Anderson (great campgrounds, especially Springfield on Lake Hartwell).
The main appeal of the Airstream was the sturdiness and engineering - Awesome! I love it so far.

I just came home from just under 4 weeks in our 25 Classic. I never once felt cramped or deprived in any way. I could very easily have stayed on the road another month.
The Airstream tows like a dream and attracts attention wherever we go.

Lots of flowers. Lilacs were everywhere and we could smell them just driving by. We were at Mackinac Island during the Lilac festival. Medians, in many places, were carpets of flowers.
During the horse-drawn carriage ride on Mackinac Island, the guide pointed out an amazing variety of wildflowers. Incidentally, there is a BIG fine there for picking a wildflower ... up to $750 for one variety.
I like the tiny Forget-Me-Nots about the best.

I hadn't given that a thought before, I used to do a lot of camping. Although we still love 'rustic' settings, nat/state parks etc., I guess we're more into the 'luxury' of mobile lodging for our traveling.

I just finished making a spreadsheet from my travel log and some of the numbers surprised me. I have had the new Classic 25 for a little less than a year now. I have towed just over 8500 miles total so far, about 7775 miles this year, all with the diesel. That's about 566 gallons of diesel.
I, and my favorite travelling cat, have spent 81 nights in the trailer; my wife, who just recently retired, has spent 62 nights. 27 of my nights or exactly 1/3 of the nights, have been out of the state of Texas. 14 nights have been in state or COE parks.
I have hooked up the trailer to the truck a total of 45 times counting local maintenance trips such as back to the dealer.
Longest trip was 4310 miles to PA, OH, MI, and WI. Second longest was 1372 miles.

I purchased my Airstream because I was unhappy with my life and needed a change. The problem was that I didn't know what that change was. So I quit my job, sold my house, hitched up the trailer and away I went. My short term plan was to purchase a piece of property, park the Airstream on it and build my own house. My only complaint about my Airstream is this... I have been living full time in it for the last 3 months and although I have done some scouting around at properties, I am just way TOO comfortable to get off my derriere everyday. This thing is just like home! Now I wish I had bought a tent trailer with a leaky roof!
We got our Airstream as a new source of fun and to facilitate seeing things we might not otherwise see. We're tired of five-star hotels and some of the hassles; and we get enough of that with business travel (and whatever other travel we choose to do)... so we think our new A/S is stylish lodging wherever the wind and the diesel blow us.
