Stayed at GBSP last year. Nice place. Saw several barred owls & bald eagles. This year I think we'll be at Ft. Flagler SP. Great time for camping--not usually very crowded.

No shopping for us, camping at Lake Livingston State Park. It will be in our teardrop (for now) and our kids and grand kids joining us. No check out lines or crowded parking lots, at least not that weekend.

No Black Friday for us. Camping is the word of the day. We'll be down in Anza Borrego and will probably go mine some tourmaline or rent an ATV and cruise around the desert.

We have a big family get together at the in-laws on Thanksgiving, and then head out Friday morning for three nights at Medoc Mountain SP (NC). I hope EVERYBODY who is up and about is shopping, so there won't be anyone on the roads or in the campground.

In general, if I was given the choice of shopping or camping on Black Friday, easy choice... GO CAMPING!!!! On the other hand, where I might go shopping would possibly make me change my mind.... Cabela's Gun World would be worth it! Maybe hitch up the trailer after!?!?

Don't be silly. Many Cabela's stores have RV parking, including a dump station. So take your Airstream to Cabela's and buy it a present!

We will head for Cooper Lake State Park Wednesday afternoon for our first annual Thanksgiving camping trip. Maybe next year we will meet up with Protagonist at DeGray

Thanksgiving dinner at DeGray sounds like a good excuse for a recurring AirForums rally…

We plan to be camping in Dade City on Thanksgiving visiting our third son. We might run over to Ikea in Tampa on Friday. We have not decided.

We may or may not be camping, but for sure we won't be fighting crowds at a mall to buy stuff we don't need. May do a little shopping after Christmas when the really low prices get put on. Beyond that, maybe a few gifts from Sam's Club or Costco for some of our friends. Family would rather bargain shop after the silliness is I've. And we never go shopping on 'Black Friday', period😄😄😄😄

Change of plans. I will be home for Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving buffet at DeGray will have to wait a year. The follow-up doctor's appointment that was just scheduled for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving kind of takes precedence. If I postponed the doctor's appointment I'd be too worried about the biopsy results to enjoy the trip. So the answer to "shopping or camping" is "Neither." My shopping will wait for Cyber Monday.

I always go to Costco to pick up the free cookbook they give out each year and to snag a couple of Black Friday Costco deals. That Dyson cordless stick vacuum for $125 off looks like it might be a good deal.
Black Friday

Other than that, I'm staying home. My plan is to shop online this year for all my Christmas shopping.

Borrego Springs for us too.
Tin Shack, I'll look for you.
We camp every year the weekend before and head home on Tuesday. Buy the groceries, prep the kitchen and cook all the sides and pies on Wednesday. Thanksgiving Day is easy. This year we'll take it to my in-laws house, make it easier for them. Black Friday, I try to hide. I'll be taking my wife to feed a big cat at Lions, Tigers and Bears.

Happy Thanksgiving

Plans may change-
If it doesn't rain every day, I'll camp.
If it rains every day, I'll stay home. If I can't build a fire, cook out, and walk, what's the point? I'll stay home and surf the net and watch TV while my wife shops-

Since I have a deep disgust of massive crowds in stores, and have already hit overload on Christmas music in my local sushi joint, I know, beyond any doubt, that I will not be shopping on Black Friday in any shopping malls. I'm just not into the pain😄

I may make brief trips to the home centers for parts paint, and lumber.

Camping will be optional whilst I do some upgrades and get the AS newly titled in California.

I can't even recall the last time I was even in a shopping mall. Cabela's, Bass Pro, and Barnes & Noble can all be visited without getting anywhere near a mall, and those are the only places I even take the time to go browsing in. Even then, I go in with the intent to buy something specific, and only browse after I've found what I went there for.

I can't remember ever shopping the day after Thanksgiving, even before it became "Black Friday". It's my Mother's fault. She would find Christmas presents all throughout the year while out shopping. Me too ...

We, too, acquire the Christmas gifts during the year when we see them. We will be spending Friday preparing a large roast beef dinner for my wife's four adult daughters (and also their respective boy friend or girl friend) who will be home for the Holiday.

The corporate avarice to require their retail employees to work on Thanksgiving day is galling. So much for the family values marketing claim we hear all the time.
