Avg Purchase price on 2015 27FB Flying Cloud?

Hey all,

We're looking to buy our very first Airstream and become full-timers all in one fell swoop.

We are tired of paying rent and seeing that money go into a black hole vs an investment and we wanted a little extra cash month to month to do fun things instead of pay for place to live that was likely bigger than we actually need (no kids or pets and we both work 8-10 hours a day). Plus we like to travel a lot and though, why not bring our home too?

After studying the market- it seems the delta in purchase prices between between '13, '14 and '15 27FB FC is low enough to say "why not" and just go for a new '15.

It also seems everyone is trying to clear out their '15 stock right now.

So far the lowest offer we've gotten on a 27FB FC with 2 AC units and 1000w inverter is about $67k , the papers show previous list was about $88k.

The more we grind, the lower the pricing is going. I was wondering if we had any new '15 27FB FC owners around who wouldn't mind disclosing their purchase price. Trying to see if there is more downward room or if we are hitting a good price.

Also, any techniques for buying from dealers would be great!

That's over a 20% discount, if that $88K sticker price is not inflated, that's a great deal......my opinion!

We found the same thing when looking for our '14 25 foot: A used '12 didn't save enough to be worth it. Maybe we could have found one at a better price, but they're hard to come by.

You're looking at a 23% discount? That's pretty good.

That looks like a good price. 18-20% off list is typical. If you are ready to buy then go for it.

Look on colonial airstream site for some MSRP price ideas, but getting 20+ % off is a Great deal.

I would be VERY CAREFUL if you are purchasing from the Los Angeles or Orange County dealer (they are one and the same!)
Look at some of my problems and lack of response/no response from the dealer owner!
This is our 2nd unit.
We upgraded after 8 months to a LEMON!!!
We upgraded 3 months ago and it has been in the shop for 2 of the 3 months.
We don’t live aboard, so we have a dry place to land, just my experience with this dealer, service, and sales department.
Good Luck

2015 27fc fb

That price is right in line with the price we paid here in Albuquerque. Ours has a solar package and that added to the price you were quoted. I know Airstream is now building the 2016s and the only thing left is any incentives from Airstream at the end of year sales. Sounds enticing but you may loose the model you have your eye on. Good luck and happy trails

That discount off MSRP is several percentage points better than I was able to do on our 2015 EB unit a few months ago. Joe

Great price! But be careful it will not be there for long. 2016s have a 5.5% price increase over 2015. Limited upgrades for 2016 and nothing to substantiate the Hugh price increase.

I paid just under $80K last Sept. for a 2015 FC 27' FB with awnings all around, inverter, solar panel, and Equalier hitch all included. Sounds like you have a pretty good deal...

With our Canadian dollar way below yours, those figures are just 'dreamland' for us.
I just ordered a 25'FC FB, 2015, using a 2308 Hi-Lo Classic as trade; and the bottom line is about $98,000+ dollars. Be happy with what you got; cause we ain't got!
I would love to have a 27' er, but too much extra money, and Wifey says the 25' is good enough.

A suggestion is to use the dealer locator on the Airstream website and cruise the various dealer's websites for inventory.

One 2015 International Serenity 23D listed for $74,753 with factory installed street and rear awnings, convection microwave upgrade to the standard microwave (still has the standard cooktop with propane oven) and the 1,000 watt inverter. They were asking for $61,500 out the door price. While the option prices did not change over the 2015 model year, the base price moved up several hundred dollars in at least two stages.

The 2016 5.5% price increase does now include the 1,000 watt inverter and the ductless air conditioning on the International 23D models. That is probably a better deal on the smaller rigs, whereas on the 2016 Classic model 30 the MSRP prices are pushing $137,000 or an increase of about $40,000 over the base price of the 2014 Classic model 30.

The Eddie Bauer models goes out of production for new sales in a month or so.

If it is equipped like you want, even a 10% discount is very fair ... not sure just why folks need to beat up the dealers! We want ours to stay in business - they are few and far between around here anyway. MSRP is just that... suggested retail price.

Be happy!

For AS's it seems the standing discount off MSRP is, ... roughly 20%.
For Class A's I'm seeing 35% off the MSRP that often the dealer is listing as a discount.
And that's consistent from a THOR to a Newmar to a Prevost.
Wondering if dealers margins that tight for AS's?
Or is it similar to Class A's but AS buyers don't get those levels because of the perception.

hhhmmm, ....
