Switched to Mac 1 year ago. 1 Macbook, 1 iMac, 2 iPhones.

I'll never go back to PC again.

Looks like we have an over abundance of computers here. How come we need to have 3 computers for 2 people???????????????? thinking that one would do.

PS this is the downsizing side of me speaking, since I have at least 2 of everything. Plus I can't put another thing into my house without RustyRivet wanting to know why if it on sale - do I really need it???????

Macs or Linux

5-6 Macs (all working). We just donated my old Dell which was blasted with Ubuntu before going to it's new home. I think I have one app left that hasn't been ported over to Mac so I do run XP on a Mac boot camp partition.

Mac with Windows XP via Bootcamp for my Autocad. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to get the keyboard to work properly while operating in Windows.

Mine - MacBook Pro & iPhone
Mr.InsideOut - Mac OS X (split to run both Mac & Windows for work software) & iPhone
Shared - iPod

Both, kind of...

Grew up with an original Mac - black & white, no storage to speak of, but boy were they easy to use and understand in those early days!

Eventually had to go over to the 'Dark Side' and get a PC, due to wealth of software availability - but PC's still can't hold a candle to the current crop of Macs! Price is another factor - you can get a PC for dirt cheap, and Mac's are still a bit pricy, by comparison...

Still use an old Mac for work inventory and accounting stuff - can't beat it!

I can't believe how easy current PC's get screwed up...one little glitch effects all kinds of programs - and it's almost impossible to fix some of these annoying glitches!!! Trying to add so many bells and whistles has made these machines way to complex, IMHO...!

This is an interesting thread. I looked at the former PC/MAC thread that goes back to February, 2006. That thread show that PC was slightly more used/favored than MAC. Now it would appear that the MAC has taken first place among members of these Forums.

Is this the result of a new crop of members who lean toward MAC, or have members who were former PCs gone over to MAC?

I had some limited exposure to MAC several ago and liked the system. The deal breaker was that it would not interface with my Dell Axim pocket PC which runs on Pocket Windows 2003. I am dependent on the Axim, and had to abandon my MAC pursuits.

I have a question for the MACs out there. Are there any new mini MACs available similar in size to the new Dell Mini 10 inch? I have have found this great for the Airstream with a 10" by 7" footprint. This has become my new full time notebook. It allows me to both use the computer and eat at the dinette table.

Mac Pro in the studio, Mini in the office and an old Mac TiBook 500 for the road. Couple of iPods. Mac since '85, but I did have to fly many PCs when I was freelancing in the late '90s.

3 Toshiba laptops, 2 Dell desktops, all PC. Only experience with a Mac was at least 10 years ago, never wanted to repeat the situation.

PC...Dell laptop. Seriously thinking about trying a MacBook Pro...with the Dell to my wife who has now become "online" and is getting impatient waiting to get to my computer. Only thing holding me back is the thought of TWO systems to have to keep running (Oh, and the $$$$$)
