Gene, I agree about the crashing on the NYT app, although recently I've noticed less crashes. (I'm on AT&T though. I don't know where the problem is happening, so...) I use the keyboard whenever I need to type more than a few words; it's easier to use my iPhone than the iPad if it's a bit longer than that. After this, I switch to the bluetooth keyboard. (I use the same one I use with the Mac Mini on my desktop.) You'll probably get more used to the touch interface; I do find that I have to be careful not to get lazy, though, or I end up all over the place.

I have to agree with you about the WSJ. That used to be where I went for good balanced news; now it's rabidly conservative, which is terrifically disappointing. Now it's very difficult to find balanced news anywhere. I tend to read a conservative viewpoint, then a liberal one, and try and balance them out myself. I suppose it's how they all make their money, catering to extreme versions of The Truth. It's difficult to be a centrist these days...not least because my liberal friends think I'm rabidly conservative, and my conservative friends think I'm rabidly left! Neither fish nor fowl...

Weirdly, I find myself all Mac these days, iPhone, iPad, MacMini. It just sort of happened: the used MacMini was gifted to me by a generous friend, the iPhone I got in the UK (so it's unlocked), the iPad I got here in the States. I've always used both systems. In some ways, I still do, as I often run PC programs on my Mac for work. I do intend to get a Verizon data card, though, as there are places I can get Verizon signal but not AT&T. Oh, the downsides of deregulation.

The poll is not here because it's on a different thread on the same topic: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f451...mac-20558.html

Old thread, new question for the Mac guys.

Replaced my old IMac with a new Macbook Air, and it's the cat's meow. But I can't view Adobe video clips on it. Don't want to mess things up or diminish it's speed or battery capacity, which are excellent. Any help?

Do you mean stand-alone .flv flash video files? Or embedded flash objects on web pages?

For .flv, you can use a 3rd-party viewer that will display nearly any modern video format called VLC, from VideoLAN.

If it's Flash objects on web pages, as far as I know you'll need the Flash plugin for your browser. I have experienced the occasional crash of the plugin in Chrome on my MacMini, but it's not been a problem otherwise.

Have you tried downloading the Flash player?

Aage,

See post 156 for the link. It used to be about equal and now Mac's aree opening up a significant lead.

Shiny trailers, shiny Mac's—they match.

I didn't chime in, Win7 at work. We're a Windows shop.

At home:

But the G4 tower has been replaced by a Mac Mini.

Well I am a Mac, PC and an "i" person too. I work with technology training and come to the forum with all of them. My preference is the
Mac though.
