16' vs 17' Sport

I am getting serious about buying an Airstream camper, and wondered about the difference between the 16' and 17' Sport. It looks like the 16' toilet & shower are in the same place, while the 17' has them separately, plus a sink. There's a lot of info on the 16' but not much on the 17'.

Any comments?

Thanks!

We own a 16' Sport. The are several differences between the two models. While the 17' is slightly longer, it is also narrower than the 16'. As you likely already know it has a larger bathroom that spans the width of the rear of the trailer. It is also more limited in sleeping space. If you are traveling by yourself, the 17 might be the way to go. Two people is pushing it in that trailer even for short periods of time. According to the AS website, the 17 is also no longer offered for 2011. The 17 was one of the first models introduced in the sport line and likely doesn't have the sales to justify further production. Also the 17 was not offered with the aluminum interior. There is some sort of fabric on the walls. And the 17 doesn't offer the front panoramic windows.....which we find almost necessary in such a small trailer. We like the 16. The bathroom is much smaller, but we usually use the campground facilitates except at night. We still haven't showered it it, though it is possible. It is small, but well laid out and very livable. We prefer living simpler when we camp, so the small size doesn't temp us to bring things we really don't need. Hope this helps.
