What a great way to kick start the New Year. It looks like it's going to polish up very nicely. What are your plans for this one?

Sorry to rain on your parade.....
What you enclosed pictures of is not a Cruiser...... All Cruisers manufactured thru 1958 were a single axle. Unless Airstream produced a lone tandem axle Cruiser, what you have shown is probably much later........

Whirlwind or Liner?
What you may have is a Whirlwind or Liner from the period..........
If the overall length from tongue to bumper exceeds 26 feet, then that probably is the case.......

OK RichardT, tell us who the new owner is so we can keep track of this one and its progress. Otherwise, we'll keep bugging you. Is it a Forums member?

One of kind most likely....
At 25 feet, you have (or did have) the only example of a tandem axle Cruiser...
Perhaps other Cruiser owners can weigh in, but after researching and viewing pictures of other Cruisers and visiting Jackson Center with my Cruiser last week, I believe this is the case.

I have heard that back in the 50's a second axle was an available option. Remember, this was in the Wally era, when Airstream would do almost anything for a price.

All I can say about it is that I had a request to find an early 50's 13 panel dual axle 25' or larger Airstream, and I rubbed my lucky aluminum horseshoe and less then 1 week later this one appeared.
So I guess if it is actually the only dual axle one ever, then the horseshoe worked even better then ever!
Thank you

It is a Forums member
Can anyone guess who?
They have given me permission to give you a clue.
In an email to me they said
"RichardT Here's what you can say ... the '52 Cruiser will soon be known as
"P...... V...... L........"!"
Actually they said the whole name but that would be to easy!
Can you guess?

Thunder & Lightning...
Just a guess, but the two go together, like milk and cookies....

No I am sorry, but your guess of Thunder and Lightning is incorrect. Close, but incorrect.
