No strethers, it is notched on the bottom side. it made for a nice clean support. I used thin 3/16" aromatic cedar for the shelves so I wanted good support on all sides.

Nellie is looking beautiful. Did you ever get the great snowstorm? We got a lot of ice and heavy crud and a little more ice. Oh well!

Isnt it fun fitting cabinets in the trailer? I have a new tool for transferring curves from the trailer to plywood. Its a 100" long profile gauge. Next time Im at the trailer Ill take a photo of it and post it. It was a little expensive but its something I can use on Holly as well as at work.

I like the pic of your two helpers. It looks like they get along quite well! Thanks for sharing

Nellie is looking great, the only problem that I see is that your great looking barn, man cave, should be in my back yard...........toastie

Thanks Brad and Toastie! I been thinking while building all the cabinets and making all the of trips from my shop to the cruiser for test fitting that there must be a contour tool for building these, next time!

The big snow storm didn't amount to much, a little snow and lots of freezing rain, I don't think Nellie liked it outside to much.

Toastie, your trailers definitely need a barn to protect them, especially after the pictures in your thread of the near miss with the storm and fallen trees.

Didn't get the cabinets done but the hard part is, all the shelves are cut for both sides.

Hi Doug. I got down to the trailer today and got a photo of the contour tool I mentioned. Opened up to full length it is 106" long, It will do inside and outside curves. I know I will enjoy using this while working on Holly.

That looks like it would have been real handy about six weeks ago At least I got my exercise in walking back and forth to the cruiser! I will get one for the next Airstream rebuild

Floor paint and cabinet finishes

Removed all the cabinets today to paint the floors for the last time and started the final finish on the cabinets. I didn't want any flooring under the cabinets to trap any water so it will only be painted under them.

Cabinets and more painting

Put the final coat of poly on the cabinets last night and wish I was installing them permanently today but decided to do one more coat of the red paint on the walls inside. After bringing the cabinets in and out so many times the walls have got quite a few scuff marks. Much easier to touch up without anything in there! Getting closer to being usable!

Waiting for paint to dry

Finished painting the inside so had to move outside, 74degrees here and about as perfect airstream weather as a guy can ask for. I bent up a new rain cap for the door, the first one I made was pretty lite duty, this one can take a good beating!

Wow! That is gorgeous. A brake and an English wheel, or what?

I could probably get away with re-using mine but would prefer to make a new one if I can actually do it myself without another $500 in tools.

Thanks Peter! Flatten out the old cap for a pattern. I added an inch onto the width so it sticks out a little farther. I do have a break and roller at work that I used but it can be done pretty easily with hand tools at home also. I bent a 1/4" and then another1/4" on the outside then ran it though a small roller at work to shape it to the door, then bent the trailer side by hand a little at a time. This is the fifth one I made so it is getting easier with practice.

Neat, thanks Frank. I'll have to play around with it and give it a shot after I make some more progress on the interior.

Ah! Very helpful! This is the exact reason why it's great to post these pictures. I was planning on making this one work, but now it sounds easy:

Cabinets

Started the final install of the cabinets today It is good to see permanent progress! Install rubber edging where the cabinets meet the exterior just like the original cabinets were.
