1954 Mobile Museum Cruiser-- recs for rims/tires and a/c

Hi all,

I teach history at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where our department bought a 1954 Cruiser for conversion into a traveling museum (see pics of our inaugural exhibit from a couple of years ago here: http://www.museumonthemove.com/). Last month we opened our latest exhibit, which is a history of oil in our state.

Anyway, we love our Cruiser and I have come to truly appreciate the charms of such a trailer-- the trailer itself lures hundreds of people to come visit our students' exhibits when we bring the trailer to festivals, farmers' markets, etc.. I am the coordinator for the program, which means that it is up to me to figure out how to keep the trailer in good order--in consequence of this, we need a couple of important items. First, we need a spare tire that will fit on this trailer, and I have had a difficult finding a proper replacement. Can anyone show me to a link for ordering a full size rim/tire combo that would work as a spare? Alternatively, if such spares are no longer available, do we need to replace both rims/tires, plus purchase a spare, in order to get a correct match? I have struggled to figure out what wheel/tire combo will work on this trailer.

Next, we need to add an a/c unit to the trailer. Is it best to simply drive the trailer over to a local R/V center to have them pick and install a unit? Or do people have particular recs for the Cruiser in terms of what might best fit on top? Can you power these units through a regular 110 volt outlet?

Thank you so much for any info that you might be willing to share on these questions! We really appreciate it!!!
