Where are the jack points?

Hi all,
My manual says the jack points to lift the Minuet 6 are marked on the frame. Of course there are no markings left. Can someone tell me where those points are?

Also would someone explain how the jack/here indicators were marked.
i.e. were they decals, riveted-on tags, painted-on wording, or what?

Decals, Hex, on my 1971. A white sticker with a red arrow pointing at the spot where the jack can go.

Hi All,

Thanks, but those did not help much. On the Minuet there is a strip of steel that comes off the frame, and the axel bolts into it. Is there a jacking point on this behind the axel?

If you don't have the markings any more, then you must find the frame rail that extends to the rear from the strip of metal you described that has the axles bolted to it. You can do this by laying by the wheels of the trailer, so you can reach underneath towards the rear. Now if you push up on the aluminum that is covering the bottom, you will feel the frame section that runs to the rear. It will be about 8-12 inches in from the side. for the fore-aft position, I'd go the same distance back from the wheel well, about 8 to 12 inches. I suggest you take a permanent marker and make a new mark where the jack goes. This is also where I put the stabilizer jacks when we camp. You don't really need jack points on the front, unless you plann on lifting the entire trailer off the ground with the wheels in free air. In case you plan on doing this, thenyou must also find the main frame rail in the front of the wheels. This will end in a V shape where the tongue goes into the trailer. Jacks for the front should go quite far to the front so the trailer won't tip due to the tongue weight. As always - be very careful when jacking up the trailer, or anything else for that matter.

Hi uwe,

The frame rail is easy to find. On the street side you instructions would be OK, but on the curb side the gas lines are very close to where you mention. What was the original jack like, I do not have it. How do you keeep from ripping the belly pan when jacking in that position. Anyone with the 6 metre have the exact location.

Thanks for the tip on the front jacking positions. I may want to put in a new axel. Can one jack anywhere along this outside frame?

You are right. On the street side behind the wheels are a ton of gas lines. My jacking point is right amidst this tangle of gas lines and water drains, plus I have an added on grey tank, so the drain valve for the grey tank is in the way as well.
But there is that little spot of aluminum real estate right int he middle where one can put the jack.
I have no idea if there ever was an original jack. Why bother when there is no spare tire anyways, right? I use the jack from my van when on the road, or an hydraulic floor jack when I have to lift the trailer. The jack points are not only important when you're servicing the trailer, but also when you're camping and need a spot to put the stabilizing jacks. i use 4 of them whenever possible, 2 at the rear jack points, and 2 closer to the front, about 3 feet in front of the wheels.With the stabilizing jacks in place, the trailer sits nice and fat, does not wiggle when walking around in it. ( I/m 200 lbs...)
To replace the axle, you should use jack stands on 4 places. I wish I could give you exact measurements, but you're just going to have to feel the frame rails. Look for evidence left by the previous owner, but make sure it's a good spot. I had one of my jacks slip in Mexico n the sand and poke a hole in the bellyskin. Ouch!
