What did you name your Argosy?
Some friends and I were talking about names for our vehicles(my daughter calls her car homer) This brought us to names for our trailers. His is a 78 6mtr minuet, mine is a 77 24ft. I think he has settled on The Bubble of Doom for his. I'm leaning towards Queen of the SlipStream for mine. The wife says SlipStream Queen. They want to name my truck Tug. What have you all named yours?

Just call him Twink because he looks like a reverse Twinkie. Lots of Twinks out there I think. I didn't know it was so popular when I started calling him that.

My '75 Argosy 24' is the "Dog House". Now when she kicks me out I have some place to go. She gets a kick out of the name too.

Haven't been able to settle on a name for our trailer yet but our under sized GMC Safari van that we tow with has been dubbed "Fluffy"; as it "Come on Fluffy, you can do it!"
Week before last a GIANT 5th wheel pulled in and set-up camp next to me. The first thing I saw when I looked out the door were mountain high letters on the side of this thing that said "Everest". I was thinking at the time if I'd had an indelible marker I should have gone out and written "Mole Hill" on the side of mine. -Bernie

Favorite Names
In the few short weeks we've enjoyed having...but yet using our 1979 27' Argosy...we've tried several. XStream was thrown out pretty quickly. We're leaning toward The Painted Stream because it helps other folks to understand.

We named our Argosy Old Rivets, at the time it was the oldest Argosy known to still exist.

What did you name your argosy?
My '78 Minuet 6.0 Metre carries the name -- "Indy-Mini". Her one and only previous owner was a Professor at Indiana State University in Terre Haute and that is where the coach resided until I purchased her three plus years ago. Her license plate is simply -- 78 MINI.

A friend came up with...
..."Tim Can". When I first asked if she wanted to visit my Airstream Argosy, she thought I was talking about a boat! I like multiple meanings.

We call ours "The Painted Pig." There's a book by that name, but I haven't read it.

Since I have two degrees in electrical engineering I am pretty heartless when it comes to naming cars, trailers or anything else that is inanimate. Heck, I have a hard time naming my dogs!
I looked at the side of my Minuet and I called it the Minuet. I figured Airstream made it easy for me. They named it for me.
I never named a trailer. I figure it is because that I am so logical.

We named our 1975 22' Argosy "Gussie" . . . . that way, when we talk about our vintage trailer, we refer to it as:
"Our Gussie"

We call our '81 Excella II 'Ole81' because the big red WBCCI number is, ironically, 8181, and we call our 2001 F250 7.3 diesel 'Bujak', which is Slovak for BULL.

We named our Minuet "Acoustic Argosy" Being we both love and play acoustic music. When we bought it, the dealer thought it would be nice to pop rivet their dealer name tag/advertisement to the entry. Janet had a nice stainless plate made up with Acoustic Argosy on it and I pulled their ad plate and replace it, looks great. Now we'll never lose our Minuet.
As for the 24' rear door we're still thinking about a name for that one, maybe spud or rocket or something equally cute.
