what about the little metal tabs???

I am changing my carpeted flooring to lino and have removed the carpet, cleaned the plywood, applied latex primer and am now about to apply the tiles BUT ... there are two aluminum tabs on the floor near the centre of my bunks and another one at the front bed in the middle as well. The fridge side has a similar tab. I assume they are all primarily for stability.
My question is how in heck do I get the tile to stick over these things. Option might be to put tile down then attach over the tile but that would look nasty. Any suggestions?
Just a comment thats interesting- my Argosy is a 1976 and the floor is rock solid except for a couple small areas. Amazing quality on such an old beast!!!
Have done wheel bearings and seals, touched up the lower paint, flooring and full clean up while trying to watch teh Stanley Cup finals. Now its nearly time to hit the road for a bit.
