I'm not to sure if the battery door gets the weather strip. I think the batteries need to vent to the outside, unless you go AGM type.

I thought building a box and venting to the outside would be easy. I purchased (2) 6v batteries at Costco, a dual battery box, fittings to vent to the existing door, and though the bottom. My plan was to add a panel behind the battery door and vent to there.

I read somewhere, someone did a similar install but also added a exterior shower behind the existing door.

AGM's and seal the door probably was the best way looking back, as others suggested.

I used standard D from out of doors mart (an airstream online store) and local big box store. I put them on with weatherstripping adhesive (auto parts store). The double sided tape will not hold it in place for long. Start at the bottom center of the door and work around. I used the same on my Windows.
