I don't know about in 1977; but in 2005, our stovetop cover was an option. I don't know why one wouldn't want one, but our dealer made the selection simple; he ordered all models from the factory with them installed. Same with the spare tire.

Stovetop cover missing?

Greetings Dan S!

The stovetop cover was an option on the Minuet, and I have seen it on only a handful of the coaches that I have seen at rallies. The covers are no longer available as a new replacement part so a salvage yard is your only hope if you wish to find a stovetop cover. I have actually found a wooden cutting board (Camping World) designed to be placed over the stove (has rubber or vinyl grippers on the bottom) to keep it in place (I have even traveled with it in place, but I prefer to keep it in my cabinet during travel).

Good luck with your investigation!

Kevin

You might still be able get the actual stove cover that fits that Magic Chef - I bought mine last year. The part number is 12001057; it's a Maytag bi-fold cover kit.

I wasn't having much luck searching online just now, but you might get lucky.
