Stove/Range vent

I just purchased a 75 Argosy 26...Question for fellow Argosy owners.

Does yours have this type of stove/range vent next to the door. I haven't seen or noticed it before in photos. As you can see, mine doesn't stay flush and seems like it will be a problem going down the road.

Any suggests on a fix or replacement?

I have the same door on my 75 Trade Wind and it sometimes is not shut all the way, but it has never been a problem going down the road. It is controlled by a cable from a lever on the control. If the level is all the way in the closed position and it is not fully closed, the cable can be shortened.

Mine is in the same place. I disconnected the cable, took the hatch off, scrubbed it, bent it around with my hands and kept putting it back on (unattached) to be sure I was getting a good fit, then hooked it back up and it's a nice tight fit now. Some spary lubricant into the cable connector helps too.

On mine, the cable was kinked where it was connected to the hatch. I straightened it out, then discovered I had to lubricate the cable because it was sticking badly.

I shot an aerosol of silicon spray into both ends, IIRC, then re-adjusted its length so that it closed fully, using the fastener (nut and bolt) which is behind the Master Control Panel on my '74 Sov.

I don't think that the Argosy units had the "Master Control Panel" (guages and stuff) but that is where the fan and door is activated on my trailer. A slider opens the hatch and at the end of its travel it turns on the fan.

The fan works, but is low power and high decibel output and so is rarely used.

Spray some silicone on the rubber too to bring it back to life, mine didn't seal very well until I did that.
