My 79 7.3 Minuet didn't come with a step. Has anyone installed one? Or
does anyone have any ideas?
Tks Paul

Greetings Paul!

The original entrance step for our Minuets was not a permanently mounted folding step as utilized in other Argosy travel trailers. Our Minuets utilized a portable step that was most often stored upside down next to the cabinet on the hinge side of the door. I was fortunate to purchase my Minuet from its original owner who provided me with the factory portable step. The step is shown in the photo below:

The step is constructed of heavy alumnum with rivets joining the individual pieces. I suspect that the steps were likely made in the Argosy plant. The non-slip tread started out life as a medium orange, but mine has faded and is now more of a medium brown.

I like the simplicity of the portable step's design, and it is amazingly solid and stable.

Good luck with your investigation!

That's quite a step Kevin. Looks like it'll last 100 or so yrs. Guess I'll have to buy one of the portable adjustable aluminum ones I see advertised.
