Spare tire.

I've looked at all the Argosy trailor pics on here and I have come to realize that my spare tire carrier/bracket on the right rear bumper must be a PO addition. They did a very good job w/ fabrication but I think the back looks cleaner w/o one. Where, if at all, was the spare tire placed originally? Thanks.

There was an option where the spare was under the trailer in the front. The belly pan was removed and brackets and a carrier were added to hold it up.

My spare rides in the back of the bed of the truck...

I had the spare tire option on my 73 Sovereign and thought about making one for my 71 Tradewind. It wouldn't be that hard. Just cut out the belly on the A frame and make a hanger out of 1" steel tubing. But I got to figuring you can pull a tandem on 3 wheels for a while and I have a truck to throw a spare in the back. So it didn't get done.

there is an elegant spare carrier that can be added that carries the spare just aft of the propane tanks, underneath, in the front of the trailer. MUCH better place for it. I had a PO-added rear carrier and removed it. I believe it added too much weight to an already-loaded rear end. I'll carry it in the truck first, until I can add a carrier to the front end. I would be aware that this may alter the hitch weight considerably, though, with a 90+ pound spare. better to have it up front, though...

90+ lbs, man you got a monster mudder on there? I would say mine weighs about 25 lbs at most, maybe another 10 for the bracket. I just went out and picked it up just so I would know I haven't lost it or else I could have gained Hulk like strength during the night. I agree however that up front under A frame/tanks would be much better visually. Thanks for the idea, maybe another winter project.

i had inland rv put one of these on. they're the same ones airstream uses.

The optional spare tire bracket was under the front of the trailer, as noted above. This equipment is still available from Airstream, if you want a new one.

indeed! 90 lb. spare? ok, now I'm having 'senior moments' after recently turning 50 (or '18 with 32 years experience' ;-) mine is probably more in the 25-30 lb range like yours... must have been thinking tire pressure? or simply not thinking... too much christmas already!

but that up front carrier is definitely the way to go
