Shower question

Hi everyone,

I am confused. Where does the water from the shower drain on the Minuet 6 metre?

Thanks,
J

shower water

due to the reduction in width there was not enough room to plumb the shower drain to the waste tank, instead it was plumbed back to the fresh water tank. LOL sorry just messing with you. i have no idea the answer

I think it drains straight out the dump valve to the ground, just like the old trailers. Everything else goes to the grey tank.

I inspected a Minuet 6.7 metre which had a gray tank for the sinks (located in a closet) but the shower drained just as Stef said. To use the shower you need either a sewer hookup or a blue tote.

Unfortunately, at least the 6.0 Metre Minuet and I suspect all of the Minuets, the shower is not plumbed into the wash water collection tank (it is higher than the shower floor as it rests above--actually on--the floor in the rear streetside wardrobe). I believe that the shower drain is connected just behind the dump valve, but this part of the plumbing was changed as was the dump valve on my coach - - it will be good to get back to Thetford quality parts as well as a more near factory original waste water plumbing arrangement (the Valtera valve has been a constant problem).

At this point, I have been discussing alternatives with the dealer's service department who does most of the work on my coaches. The two alternatives that we have been looking at include adding a third tank (second wash water located below the floor for the showerr) or installing a special 12-volt pump designed for use to pump the shower waste in pleasure boats to pump the wash water from the shower up to the standard Minuet wash water tank.

Good luck with your coach!

Kevin

Shower drain pump...

The following website is for a shower drain pump that could be used to pump the water from the shower over to a grey water tank somewhere else. Maybe it would work for what you need.

That is much more compact and about $30 less for the parts that what we had been considering. The biggest difference is that the defender system is far less complex. The link below is the product that has been under consideration, but given that its depth is 5.5" there would be a problem with the mounting box protruding below the coach's bellypan.

Shower Sump System, 800gph, 12V

Thanks for the lead!

The grey water tank in the Minuet 7.3 meter (24') rests below the floor and the shower and sink water all drain into it.

Mine has some rusty housing and I can see the day coming when I have to reinforce it under there. The tank rests just behind the rear axles and is very flat and wide. The outlet for the grey tank is on the streetside and it's a short connection from the grey tank outlet to the drain valve. Too short actually. It'll be a bear to work with that when the time comes.

As for yours, Miss Minn, since there is no tank for the shower water to go into just get a "blue tote" portable tank and you'll be all set.
