Screw Molding

I've been searching everywhere for plastic molding to go over the aluminum screw mold strip near the front inside end cap of my 1978 Minuet. I've attached a photo. It measures 3/4" in width, is only an 1/8' or so in total thickness, and the original was tan. Over the years UV has destroyed all the plastic trim. Does anyone have any idea where I might find some of this molding? Thanks

Inland RV has some generally. You can call them and find out. I believe they only have white.

I have very successfully used strips of plastic laminate cut to size to fit into the groves. An even easier thing is to cut down strips of vertical blind slats to the right width and they snap right in. Lots of colors and textures are available in blind slats, so you can decorate the edges to your heart's content.

Thanks, idroba......the aluminum strip that this molding covers won't hold anything that snaps in. The molding is like a thin "c", with the little outside edges snapping over the aluminum edges. The aluminum piece is flat in the middle, where the screws are, and then flares out on the top and bottom edges, where the plastic snaps over. At this point I'm not too picky about the color. Tan would be great, but white will also work, as would either brown or orange. Once again, I appreciate your post.

Ah, ok, I understand now. My suggestions will not work, of course. It must have been something that Argosy did as one of their many variations of materials. Everything on the Argosy was subject to factory experiments. Or, maybe a PO did some work, hard to know.

Best in finding what you are looking for. Inland RV would still by my first place to look, if it was factory trim. Give them a call.

Can you post a picture of where this goes? I couldn't figure out where the strip was by looking at the inside of my Minuet.
Vintage Trailer Supply, Out of Doors Mart, Inland RV, and Oasis RV (in Tucson, AZ) have all been good sources for odd parts.

This is the best picture I have of the screw molding I'm looking for. The trailer is about 100 miles from here being worked on, so I can't take another picture. The molding is the orange horizontal stripe between the two curtain sections. It is located just below the curtain track, and above the window....going all the way around the front of the trailer. The plastic is 3/4" wide, and snaps over the aluminum screw mold strip. It all fell apart, so now there's nothing there but aluminum. Any help finding this stuff would sure be appreciated. Thanks

I have torn out and replaced every single piece from my Argosy and I have not seen that molding. Also, through my extensive research I have not seen this for sale. This is not to say you can't find it, but in my experience I have not come across it. I will keep an eye out for you though. Good luck...

Yup, my Minuet has/had that same molding. I never noticed it before though we replaced curtains right over it. My molding is not in real good shape, so I am looking for a source as well. If I find one, I'll let you know.
