Rust under clearance lights

I am in the process of taking down all my old non-working clearance lights and have found rust under some of them. I'm not at the point where I want to repaint the whole trailer, but i'd like to take care of this rust issue. I guess I need to sand it down and paint it with something. If anyone has any great ideas, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks

I haven't tried it myself, but one of the many notes I've taken from advice on the forums is that Krylon Ivory gloss is a pretty good match to the original color for touch-ups.

Krylon Dover White is another possibility. It is what I use on my Argosy. I find the Krylon Ivory to be a bit too yellow for my rig. Dover White is available from ACE hardware usually, although the smaller stores might have to order it for you. The Ivory is available at most Wal Marts.

You might want to spray some of the rust converting primer on the area before painting with a color coat. NAPA, Pep Boys, etc. are likely sources for the primer. Eastwood makes a rust encapsulator and POR 15 has been used on chassis rust for years.
